Well, yes, there you have it. I have an LS1 in the family now. My bro just picked up a stock LS1 camaro(A4). Since this is S&S, I have to ask the question. How will my GT stack up against it??? I know, I would race him but, I am in AK and my car is in PA. Also, it is sittin w/ a spun bearing at the moment so, you will have to work w/ me. I think I can make a very good account for myself when we get this race setup.

Here you go: 1/4 from a dig

1998 Camaro LS1
stock
decent driver but, A4

1996 GT
SCT tuned 4.6L
3.73s
P&P heads
full exhaust
100shot wet nitrous
driver mod> Camaro driver mod

Dynoed 302/382 last time on a dynojet but, I am hoping for about 320rwhp now w/ the heads done.

I am VERY sure NAvs NA, he has me easily but, what do you think the juice will add to it. From what I can see from my passes that I tested my car at, I would trap about 100mph in the 1/4.

Thanks again

You should outrun him easily on the gas.  You should give him a run for his money on motor after the heads are done.  If you are running a stock set of non PI heads now, and going to have a set of ported heads when it's done ( which will have bigger intake ports than PI heads) then your gonna gain way more than 18 hp with the heads.  I think just by doing a PI swap you pick up like 40 rwhp.

It should be a close race NA with the advantage going to you. On spray you will blow his ass back.

very close race on the juice! off the juice hel take you.....but you claim you trap 100mph in the 1/4 ls1 trap 104-107 so he might beat you regardless

Thanks for the responses. I WILL be sure to run this when I have my car back w/ me...I dont know when that will be.

As far as my traps.....I run it close to where I used to live. It is in an industrial park so it isnt an official quarter mile. It is just the closest that I got. That was also w/ a stock clutch. Now, I have a built T45(yea, yea, yea, laugh it up...hahahha) w/ a Spec II clutch. I do have to say that I was estimating lower numbers since I have an 04 Cobra shortblock. That is lower compression(8.5:1 vs nonPI 9.0:1). That may make me lose some power.

btw, I said 100 shot. I do plan to up that to 150 when finished since the 04 block will easily handle it(w/ proper fuel and tune of course).

Thanks

Mine is 6 years old and bone stock, the 1995 I picked up in 2000 was bone stock and finally the GFs 96 that we picked up in 2004 was bone stock. It happens. :)
