Navbtcret has a single, with a 3" pipe I believe.  I had a single, with a Ford Racing Borla on, and it was too damn loud and droning for me.  I went with FRPP Dual system, and it sounds a lot better, does not drone and has a great note.  So, you can do single, you might not like the sound.

I never had a single with my X but when I did have it was a little more raspy than my duals, especially when first starting out in the morning. That was a flowmaster 40, so I don't know how that compares to the FRRP muffler. I have dual FM 40's now with an X pipe and it is a great set up.

Is your belt slipping? I've never heard of this problem before. You may want to call Dave Vanek at Explorer Express as he is quite willing to answer technical questions.

If it didn't start how could the belt smoke? (The belt has nothing to do with timing)  If the belt is rubbing, you could have the spacers reversed on the idler pulley bracket. Did you check all your wiring connections? Did you load the tune? Did you call Dave?

hey guys, few quick questions...

what is the difference between the cal spec and the hi-po with the 3.0 pulley? is it the respective max boost? how much does each put out?

i am only looking to run at a max of 5-6 pounds; what setup is right for me?

also, does anyone have a dyno of the cal-spec setup? the only one i could find is for the hi-po with the 2.8 pulley.

can i re-use my steeda CAI with the cal-spec kit? all the pics show a factory airbox.

for those that did not install it themselves, what did an instal run you?

Thanks! hoping to buy one soon!

as far as the CAI is concerned any of the CAI units that use the stock air tube should work. i reused my AFE unit because i had it and liked the looks. the pro with using an aftermarket CAI is that the tunes have been designed for the stuck airbox with the gt top. and the hipo with the x scream CAI. so if you want to reuse your CAI you would need to dyno tune the kit. install the kit and gt box and when you have the time and extra money bring the CAI with you and install it and dyno the car.

i have the cali kit 3" pully and the AFE CAI run around 6 boost

is it an easy downgrade to go from hi-po version to cal-spec version come smoggy time? i''m assuming it would only require the GT airbox assembly and cal-spec tune?
