1. What's the most amount of miles anyone has put on their car with the x-charger on it?
2. What's the highest octane anyone is using with the x-charger(what's the usual octane tune for it)?
3. Any ideas on how much more the intercooled version will cost over the 2 models now?

unless I'm mistaken arent all blowers of any type tuned for 91 or 93 octane

it'd almost have to be premium. you can only go so far with low octane gas.

Hey guys

I just started looking into this for my 06 Pony. I did a google search on Xcharger and didn't find much. Do you guys has some links so I can start looking at prices. Also, from what little I have found, the best power I've seen so far is 350hp. is this about the best we can do with just bolt ons? I'v seen some bolt on stuff from Brenspeed that they say will add 200hp to the 4.6. I would like to get 400 from the 4.0 and still be a daily driver.

Most powerful x-charger I have heard of auto's in the 290rwhp range(350bhp) but I'm sure there's a lot more possibilities than that(snow performance meth/h2o kits cool inlet temps and allow you to run more timing-people have seen gains of up to 50rwhp(60bhp) on 10psi set-ups with this although you must be cautious on maintenence and safety with this kit, longtube headers(at least 20rwhp I'D say) will help a lot and I haven't heard of any x's running them, and there's other things you can do to the exhaust to make power (hi-flow cats/no cats/ straight pipes/etc)). Not to mention the intercooler will add at least 30rwhp to anyone's set-ups that their running now, but remember that's gonna run another $1k most likely so plan ahead if your saving for it. 400bhp is very possible on the x-charger with a meth/h2o kit now and some mods, or you can be safer and wait for the intercooler to come out. Intercooler + some bolt-ons should get you to 400bhp.

No set of bolt ons will add 200 HP to a GT.  Unless one of the bolt-ons is an intercooled turbo.  What exactly are the bolt-ons you are referring to?

I think he heard or saw that a roots blower will add/make 200hp+ on a GT. That's my guess

My brother's GT w/ a saleen supercharger and a host of other bolt on's makes 520 rwhp.

There's something that always got me curious. It says the x bolts on with basic hand tools, what exact hand tools would you need to install it? (couple wrenchs and screwdrivers?) Size's of parts too if you. And how hard would it be to install an intercooler for these? mechanic skill needed? Thanks ahead!

Basic hand tools ... plus torx bits and a crows foot for the EGR tube. The manual has a list of the tools you need and how to make a couple "special" tools to make your life easier.

I think the most stressful part was the EGR tube.
I did spend extra time extra on extending the wiring because I wanted it to look factory.

And a good torque wrench... which many casual car guys don't have.   I used a digital one from a buddy, and it read very different than my cheapy "bending wire" torque wrench.

I want to put a x-charger in my car what other parts would I need. Would I need gears and other stuff.

You can install the x in an otherwise stock car. I would suggest a driveshaft if you plan on dragracing and the usual suspension mods for traction if you like to take off like a jackrabbit alot.

I have stock gears and an auto.  When I installed it, I still had single exhaust as well.  I must admit, when you got on it, the single exhaust was LOUD... I have since added FRPP Duals, and it is much nicer.  So... you don't need it, but I would suggest you get duals.

You DON'T need

1. New gears
2. 8.8 rear
3. Major suspension mods - although GT takeoff sways are CHEAP if you don't have pony package
4. New brakes - although GT takeoff fronts are dirt cheap
