Default 1.4 60'??

My friend took his 96 gt (mostly stock, auto tran.) to the track.. he pulled a 14.1 so i ask to check out his timeslip, because im wondering howthis is possible. To my disbelief, his 60' time was a 1.4, on stock tires!! This makes me mad because the best i ever got out of my nittos was a 1.9... It was his first time at the track too! compliments to him for this amazing launch, but im just wondering how the hell this was possible. discuss.

Complete crap time.... timers screwed up/something happened. Usually people with 60fts like that are 11s or faster...

What was the MPH?? I suspect its inflated as well.

I am curious to know what his R/T was... I've seen a strange event occur when the R/T is over a second and the remainder gets cut off the 60ft somehow.

One person I know of thinks it is a red light event that doesn't trigger properly and the timer starts on green anyways (which means you got a .xx head start) and that time gets cut off the 60ft.

Another spin from that would be a red light occurs (doesnt trip as a red light) and when the timer actually starts your back tire breaks the first beam and your front tire trips the next beam to get your 60ft.
Not sure yet.

i forget what the MPH was but it made sense to me.. because if he had pulled a 2.0 then hisET would have been 14.9 which seems reasonable for his car.

Yea, the timers messed up. If he pulled a 1.4 the front wheels would be up at least a few inches.

Street radial tires don't have a high enoughfriction coefficient to produce a 1.4 60' so yeah, the timers are screwy
