Then it's driver error... stock m3's can run in the low 13's... N/A Cobras won't...

David... If you're giving Terminators a scare, it's because the Terminator driver really doesn't know what he's doing... the car stock should run in the high 12's... but then again, i have seen them run awful... lol and i know you know how to drive... In the end in straight line racing - you're comparing a 333bhp 200 something lb ft torque car that weighs around the same to a car that dynos at 370/340... it's easily a half second faster in the qtr... but you already knew that

The only Termie I've ever scared was my friends because I got loose on the 1 - 2!

01 Cobras and Older 333hp M3s are both mid 13 second cars. Similar weight, M3 has a slight hp edge, Cobra has about a 50 tq edge. Drivers race at best. As long as the road is straight....

Here is how it goes... There is a guy that shows up at the street races every sunday and picks races with the 03-04 cobras he has 04 or an 05 m3 with a fat shot of n02 but before he had the no2 i saw him loose sooooo many races.  Those cars just arn't built for the straight line. They would beat the na cobras its just a fact just by a little.  And whoever says they can even come close to the 03-04 cobras stock you have another thing comming to you buddy m3 will get rocked... As for the chick aspect, most chicks don't know what the heck a m3 is, its justa bmw and u know who drives bmw's and trys to hard to pick up chicks yesss fags... Also chicks have no clue what a svt cobra is its just a mustang and most girls want to own a mustang or a freggin bmw so... We can all just own our mustangs and be happy with what we own...

well, so this is what it comes down to.

2006 bmw m3  will beat NA cobras and Mach 1's that aren't modded that much
but a bone stock 2003-2004 cobra will spank the m3 anyday.

All this of course considering all drivers are equal.

What about the new m3
The '08 M3 will have a 445lb high tech 4.0L V8 based on the 5.0 V10 in the M5 and M6 minus two cylinders. It makes 420hp and 295ftlbs torque and revs to 8400 RPM. Can you imagine how sweet that would sound with a full exhaust settup, a V8 reving at over 8k! Car will weigh about 3400lbs and the lurchy SMG tranny in gone, just a slick 6 speed and a new dual clutch application. As are all Bimmers, this one will be electronically governed @ 155mph. I'm drooling...this thing is baddass. And expensive. What this thing would lack in torque out of the hole against a terminator, it would more than make up for it in mid and top range. But back to the original question, stock for stock the little VANOS straight six would be slightly outgunned by the terminator providing there were relatively equal drivers in both cars. I agree with others that a N/A cobra ( the 320hp ones) would get edged. I've gone against one and they really pull hard as the tach passes 5grand. Some asian guys here in Vancouver (or more acurately, Richmond) have modded the current 333hp ones to well over 500hp. The exhaust sound is amazing. I love all cars and would be equally happy in a terminator or an M3.

yah i already watched a cobra with less mods than mine beat the new m6 with a v10 on the freeway... As for the new m3 yah thats pretty slick but low tq numbers is kinda crappy lookin more like a jap car if you ask me for the tq aspect only... And the numbers are pretty close to the new audi RS4 that is out... And i just happend to race a RS4 comming home from my base. I raced him with my top down windows down a buddy in the car and all my gear in my car. He had exhaust and a tune and i still worked him real real hard from 90mph to fifth gear maxed out... That was pretty freaky but fun times just to brag to my friend that swears by german cars. lol.
