Default 3.73's, T-lok, Shift Kit help

ive been thinking about getting 3.73s in my mustang and from what ive read it seems that i need a t-lok, but have no idea what that is. I read a lot but don't post at all, and am just looking for stuff to improve my 2000 auto v6. and it seems the best way is to get new gears (with a t-lok) and a shift kit. the problem is, i don't know a whole lot about t-loks and shift kits. what shift kit would fit my car? and where could i get a t-lok?
Thanks

a t-lok is one of many limited slip differentials. what they do is lock your axels together when you accelorate which causes both wheels to spin instead of just one. it gives much better traction. most people suggest that you get gears and the limited slip together because the both go in the rear end and it is easier to just open up the rear once and get it all taken care of at one time. for autos most people suggest the 4.10 gears instead of the 3.73s but its really just your opinion. i myself am putting in 4.10s (im also an auto) and i am putting in a powertrax lock-right LSD. there are many different LSDs, it just depends on how much money you have to spend and how much power you plan on going to but i hear most people say that the t-lok will work with up to 300 horses i think. as for a shift kit, i believe transgo makes one but ive never looked into it. when u get gears u will need a tuner to correct ur speedo though.

To put it simply, a T-lok replaces your open differential, which allows power to hit the ground through both wheels as oppossed to one as with your stock open differential.

What should you use for an LSD if you have over 300 horses?

Detroit Truetrac for stock or built 5spd cars
above 250rwhp for 4R70W cars and even then just get a detroit. ford t-lok isn't worth it

the Ford T-lok is just a weak unit. mine had cracks in the housing and was warped and chipped spyders andsecond set of clutches were shot when i swapped in the truetrac. and my car only makes 225rwhp and 270ftlbs

We have 4.10's in ours and a t-lock, and it does exacttly what they are all telling you, you spin both tires instead of one... We can still spin both tires in 4th gear with our 99... Of course me being a gal, I dont do it as much, but when I let my hubby drive my car, he does spin them once in a while.
