Default Hood to decklid or bumper to bumper stripes?

I'm going to be doing stripes in the next couple weeks. For an estimated $150 I can do stripes from the hood to the rear of the decklid or for about $250 I can go bumper to bumper. The guy that's doing them is a graphics artist and his business partner does the applications. He's done many graphics on cars and insists that bumper to bumper would look better overall. I think that bumper to bumper on a GT looks great, but I'm not so sure how it would look on a V6 Pony Package. I'm not sure it would look so great with the Pony grill, but since I haven't seen black stripes on a Tungsten Pony Package from bumper to bumper I can't really say how it would look. Anyone have pics of this type of striping on this car or any suggestions?

Thanks!

Victoria

Hello,

I have an '06 Pony Pkg in Tungsten. When I found it on the lot, the car had dealer installed, black 'bumper to bumper' stripes along with the stock black rocker stripes. The car was everything I was looking for, except for the stripes... My personal opinion was that the black did'nt go well with the Tungsten at all, so I had them removed along with the rocker stripes prior to purchase. I *do* like bumper to bumper stripes though, and am looking into getting some for my car in silver, which I think looks much better. Here is a couple links to pix of a Tungsten w/silver stipes:

Absolutely bumper to bumper. The hood to decklid thing looks okay on rare occassions (someone with a grey GT has black hood-to-decklid stripes which look pretty good), but for the most part, I find it unfinished and cheap looking.

I would say it's definitely worth the extra cash to go bumper to bumper, and if I were to stripe my car, I wouldn't even consider the hood to decklid layout.

GrayPony... your Stang looks great. My concern is how black stripes would look with the Pony Package grill that I have. I'm sorta trying to go for the Eleanor look, with the black stripes on top and at the sides, but I must admit that silver looks really nice as well. I wouldn't have any qualms about doing silver stripes bumper to bumper with the grill that I have, but I'm thinking black might be a bit harsh for it. Ona GT or V6 with the regular V6 grill, I'm sure black would look fine bumper to bumper.

Can someone tell me the exact size of the Shelby stripes? I believe I once heard that the stripes were both10 inches wide with a 1 and a half inch gap in the center. Can anyone verify or correct this?

Bumper to bumper looks good.
So does hood to decklid.
Also just hood and decklid if no spoiler, or ducktail.
And just hood looks good as well.
It's your choice.
