Default AIR CLEANER FOR '66 MUSTANG 289

We have just purchased a 1966 Mustang Convertible with the 289CI, 3-speed manual. I don't believe it has the correct air cleaner assembly on it. Can anyone tell me which is the correct air cleaner assembly, and where is the best place to find one? I believe I also need the heat pipe assembly that runs down and attaches to the exhaust manifold.

Thanks for the help!

Its not shown in the picture, but it says it includes the snorkel.

I assume you have a 2 bbl carb? If so, you have an air cleaner with a cover and snorkel. If you had a Hi-po 'K' car, it would have an open element chrome air cleaner with no snorkel or heat tube.

Didnt the 4 bbl also have the snorkal? I thought there was the 2bbl, 4bbl, and HiPo. And only the HiPo had the chrome aircleaner.

If she has a 3 speed manual tranny, then she has a 2 barrel carb unless some previous owner added a four barrel and intake later.

I have an original 66 air cleaner off my car if you cant find one. Might even deliver it if "Topless in Virginia" isn't referring to your convertible[sm=smiley2.gif] LOL
