Ok this is my son's car.

Kinduva beater but it gets around.

Convertible top was working just fine and dandy.

Somehow the switch got busted underneath the dash board.

Went to the junkyard and found a replacement.

Here is the deal:

For some odd reason, when you hit the switch (going up or going down) it goes for a second then stops.

There is no rhyme and reason to how long it takes to get the top up or down.

It usually takes 3-6 minutes of hitting the button, waiting, and hitting the button again.

We can hear the motor running and then it just STOPS.

When it stops we have to wait about a minute to hit the button again before the motor will kick back on.

NOTE:  The switch got smashed and that is why we had to change it.  The top was working absolutely perfect with no hitches or glitches until then.

Depending on how long it sat, the switch could have alot of corrosion in it. Volt meter would tell you if you're getting constant current to the pump.
