View Full Version : Got myself a Terminator!
forbanger 08-20-2007, 11:31 PM Hi Guys! I really don't post much but I wanted to announce the great news:):D:):D
I am so excited to get this thing! Iwanted to pick it up today but I really didn't want to drive two cars home at the same time......If you know what I mean.
Well, it is a 2003 10th aniversary Cobra w/24000mi on her. Private party says it has a full bassani exhaust (less headers), a cold air kit, an upgraded pulley (don't know the size), and a predator programer. He says the X-pipe doesn't have the cats on them. We took it for a test drive and the thing was LOUDDDDDDD. I don't know if I liked that at all. The car wasn't even being pushed and it was loud. The sale includes all the stock parts so I can can put the stock x-pipe on if I decide to.
He says the set up was dynoed at 470hp.
I will post pics on Wed when I pick up the car.:):D:):D:):D:):D:):D
thats awesome dude!! if u got 470 rwhp, thats gotta be nice.!!! i would just leave it loud if i were u. plus the factory midpipe with the stock cats is hella restrictive considering ur running higher than stock boost.
Ellik 08-21-2007, 06:45 AM Find bassani cats and bolt into that X. Should help quiet it down a little.
SNAKE_O1 08-21-2007, 08:16 AM Gosh, I want one sooooo bad!!!! I wonder what I can sell mine for?
forbanger 08-21-2007, 09:57 AM Thanks for the comments guys! Like I said I will post pics tom.
Can't wait to drive it home!

forbanger 08-22-2007, 08:58 PM thanks mfj! the former owner took very good care of it.
MrRogers 08-22-2007, 09:00 PM Nice Cobra, I always loved the look and sound of those cars. Congrats, take care of it and most importantly, respect it. 470rwhp should not be taken lightly.
Blacksunshine98 08-22-2007, 09:12 PM Congrats! Since we have a new Audi I had to settle for a 98 Cobra - but I enjoy it and it makes a nice little hobby. I also don't have cats and I agree - it is loud as hell, but I like it.
Blownsvt 08-22-2007, 09:30 PM Nice and it a 10th good pick up
xxkazp3rxx 08-22-2007, 10:51 PM nice lookin cobra, but you didn't get the fastest color... thats redfire [&:]
Ellik 08-23-2007, 01:02 PM looks sharp!
massmustang02 08-23-2007, 03:30 PM Nice clean 10th. Congrats and enjoy it.
forbanger 08-23-2007, 04:18 PM Thanks for all the replys:DI LOVE THIS THING!Although........It is sooooo loud.everyone must think I am a whimp for complaining about the noise this thing makes but I swear it is deffening even just cruising on the highway.
Now I am itching to a.)turbocharge it or b.) stick a bigger supercharger on it (KB 2.6 or 2.8).
I used to be a big ricer but I guess I crossed over the darkside. Anyway, I had owned a bunch of DSM cars (4g63 turbos). I guess I am more knowledgable on turbos and all the crazy pipings. Actually, a turbo would make it quieter since it will act as another muffler. Hmmmmmm:eek:
go 3.4L whipple!!! very inexpensive considering what ur getting. i wouldnt ever go turbo ona cobra unless i wanted a full drag cobra with 2 step. other wise, too much lag, low end torque is lost.

nice lookin cobra, but you didn't get the fastest color... thats redfire [&:]
Excuse me?
Everyone knows that the fastest color is zinc yellow!
Nice ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
xxkazp3rxx 08-25-2007, 08:35 AM no... the zinc ones have the good drivers... the redfires make crappy drivers like myself seem faster :)
sharkster 08-25-2007, 09:22 AM You could always come to the darkside with snails:D
silstangchic 08-25-2007, 09:33 AM wow..that thing is soo nice..the interior..the exterior....very nice cobra..always been a fan of a black gt's and cobras..i like silver too tho;)

We stopped the dyno at 672hp on 17# as we were spinning on the top end and the heat and humidity was killing it. Came out to around 710 or so on 17# on 93 pump 11.1 a/f 101 degrees in the shop 16.5 degrees timing
Should be at 800 or a little above on 20-21# on 110
ollied 08-25-2007, 11:22 PM damn..i saw thatbad asson autrotrader...then it was gone when i checked tonight...lolz

forbanger 08-28-2007, 06:26 PM Thanks for all the replys!
Now I am itching for a bigger power adder.........Turbo? Hellion or Racer walsh kit??????
PWORLDSTANG 08-28-2007, 09:34 PM Since you already have an upper pulley, you can get a port job and go with a lower next. Or just straight up go twin screw.
Since you don't know what size pulley you have, If you take a picture of your pulley and post it, one of usshould be able to tell you what size it is..

Yes, you can just measure the diameter of the pulley to find out.
CobraBob 08-31-2007, 08:28 PM Congratulations on the 10th Anniversary purchase. Nice looking car! I know you're going to enjoy the heck out of it. The biggest problem with the Terminator is deciding what to do first since there are so many mods/options available now. It's way easy to make BIG power with the car. Maybe too easy! Blessing and a curse ya know! :-)
forbanger 09-01-2007, 11:14 PM Hey Guys,
Thanks again for all the replies!
I figured out what the size was by measuring it, it's a 2.8.
One thing that still bugs me is the sound. It is so so so LOUD. I am woundering if I should replace my X pipe to a catted one? If so anyone recomend a good pipe where I wouldn't loose much performance?
Thanks!
1badpony 09-04-2007, 12:23 AM Hey, i'm looking at the identical car, one i'm looking at has 19K miles but is stock. Its also a black 10th Anniversay, I love the look of them.
Congrats on the car, really hope everything works out and I have mine by weekend.
BTRStang 09-04-2007, 01:16 AM Nice car, I have always liked the black with black and red seats, Oh by the way Sonic Blue is the fastest color!

What Cat Back do you have? Some Cat Backs are just loud, without a way around it (Stingers, Loudmouths...)...Buying a catted mid pipe would quiet it down a lot.
