Default Just tried removing the muffs.

So, I had to try it out. I had read about some other people trying this out and wanted to know what it was like.

General Consensus: The sound is a little poor. Low end sounds are "gurggle like." Upper RPM range sounds great, especially at cruise speeds. Down shifting is contagious. I am a big downshifter, and loved how the car sounded when downshifting, even from inside the car. I do think it is a little extreme though. For the hardcore sound guys, this would be the deal for you, maybe come up with a way to eliminate the rattle from the pipes in the back on rougher roads or the occassional dirt road.

Removal: Relatively easy. I have a better idea on how to replace the mufflers with a better set in the future now. Took me about 20 minutes or so to unbutton, remove, button, and drive.

Well, just wanted to give an opinion for the ones that are just coming and wondering about the idea.

Cheers,

Ray

See, I thought it sounded like a dumptruck without any mufflers, just the midpipes dangling there. Reminded me of an old Pinto I drove for a couple weeks when I was 16, except the Pinto actually had rotted out mufflers on it. And I'm not quite so afraid of being rear-ended when I drive the Mustang...

Yeah, I hear ya there. Just put them back on and fired the car off again. Much better, but do miss the sound. Have to order something to offset it.

What are the part numbers for FRPP Stingers? M-5230 wasn't it?

Thanks,

Ray

I did this while locating a noise on a 07 gt/cs and I thought that it sounded like pure crap.
