Hey guys well I sold my six a couple days ago, and just picked upa '99 GT the other day. :D
I figured I'd wait for the 4v and just do a few mods to this, and keep the extra money I have for school and just whatever I want here and there.
I picked it up for $8500.It is in mint condition, one 'senior' owner, and all I can say is damn, the power in first and second compared to my sixxer is insane. It snaps my head back when I floor it at 3500 rpm's...I can't even imagine the power of a termie.

Yes, it is insane, I'll slowly accelerate to 3000 rpms in first gear and then punch and I will chirp the tires and my head will snap back.
I test drove a '98 cobra before I bought the GT, and they really don't seem that different at all.
In fact the GT seems "stronger." The engine must be healthier and well taken care of I guess...

Not bad. I liked ur old one better. All you would of probably needed was gears on ur 6, a tune, and ud be just as quick as the 4.6 . I mean its only pushin what like 260 and thats not even at the wheels. Nonetheless, its not bad.

Shoulda kept your old rims. And I hate our split dashes compared to the DD '01 and up version! Nice though, good condition. Have fun!

xemeth i agree the gt may sound better. but the only thing i have to say is. if you are gonna upgrade to something faster why with a gt's? seriously no disrespect to anygt's owners ive seen some quick 1's but just think about all the money and mods u have to do to make power. imo the gt's look good and sound great but i wouldnt "upgrade" to 1. thats just what i think.

Thanks everyone, and I know the 2v isn't anything special, but I actually did something that would help me in the financial situation for school, because right nowI do not have a job since I just moved.
And I know it may not be that much faster but I'm happy with the power. It gets me where I need to go and when I want to punch it, it'll get up and go. I'll have my toy when I finish college. :)

Yes I have driven it... It has 400+ hpto the wheels. The only thing thats beaten it was a juiced Z06 on Pinks All Out in Washington state. A Barrett Jackson rep wanted tobuy the car from the guy to put in their Fall edition. He showed me the letters and the paper work too so i know hes not giving me a hard time. He was part of a race team that was on pinks.. You maynot remember but they had an old black chevy malibuor something of the sort with green and black interior.. They werefrom my town of FederalWay Washington but they raced in like Alabama or some state like that... They lostkuz the driver couldnt connect the tires to the trackto save his life..Believe me this car will bury in the seats in 2nd gear, especially if its tunedat the 4th stage.

even IF the car was capable of running down z06s all day, that doesn't mean YOU will be capable of doing it. going from a low-end v6 to a 400+RWHP car is like night and day. just going from my old 98 v6 to a stock 04 GT was a huge change for me. every time i take my car in for huge mods, i have to re-learn how to drive it again.

I like those wheels, very custom.

**** those guys. You got something that those guys dont. You put all the mods that they put into thier sixers and they wont even touch you. Are GT's supposed to respond better to mods than sixers. A V8 is fast. Racing is a rich man's war, either you got it or you dont. The one with the depest pocket wins. Good luck and congrats.

I didnt get my Mustang out of a junk yard i got it off of some guy who didnt want it anymore and it just needed a paintjob a tune up and some other stuff.. it ran fine i never had anything problems with it other than my radiator leaked after my car sat in the snow and my thermostat got stuck. I sold it to a guy whos last name was Everett, they live in Granite Falls Washington. I sold it to them for 4000 dollars. The reason i wanted a 2nd gen is kuz i like em but insurance was too much.. now i only have to pay 168 a month for insurance on my 4th gen.

Im just going off what the guy told me and the paperwork and recipts he showed me with all the work done to the car.... When i was talking about pinks.. that wasnt my camaro that was another car that the guy who ownedthe camaro before me was on a pit team for an episode of pinks.. Its got ported heads catless 3inch exhuast, 4 stage tune, posi rear end, its chipped, racing tranny.. They won the car at a drag strip called SIR, it came with most of the mods already. He did alot of the work since he was on a pit crew for a race team. Ill try and get all the paperwork i can for you just to satisfy you.. And im not kidding, if your ever in washington and you want to check it out let me kno. Same goes for anyone here. I told Flake that once i get it insured and titled ill head over his way and he can check it out and report back if youd like an outside opinion.

Thanks, its already got ported heads, I could use a good intake. SLP makes a good one for the camaro, not sure if they make any for the LT1.

Also, no offense, but you've got to realize that the whole thing sounds fishy. I mean, it's a basically stock-looking LT1 Camaro that looks to be in OK condition...but Barret-Jackson, purveyor of $4-million Hemi Cuda convertibles, somehow wants it? Also, it has 400whp but the listed mods could only HOPE to result in that much power.

Yeah, i was skeptical too.. Honestly you guys are right, i shouldnt have been so ready to believe him until i see for myself. Ill show Flake, ill run a 1/4 mile and ill video tape it to see. The engine is stock but you cant see the heads and its got a bigger tb and maf plus sensors, thats all he did. From looking at it i can tell hes telling the truth there. The heads i dont kno kuz i cant see em. Exhaust hes tellign the truth about too 3in Y and pipes no cats (loud as hell) and the tune couldnt tell ya, the tranny, havent really gotten a chance to look, and the i kno the rear end is posi trac and it has posi bars, he showed me that much while driving and under the car... Ill see what i can put together and we will see if he was lying.. if he was i want like 1000 bucks back haha.

OK, for starters, just because Josh's car looks stock doesn't mean it is stock, a great example is none other than Nanaki. You'd never know that his totally stock looking GT would absolutly burn most cars on the road while tearing them a new one.

Now as far as Josh's car goes, I highly doubt it's making 400 rwhp, I'm gonna say maybe mid 300s with the heads and other work, but unless the intake and cam has been changed there is no way.

Also, Josh, the only ZO6s your car is going to beat is older models, the newer Z06s will kick your butt, and mine put together right out of the box with no work at all, and the last gen isn't too far off from the newer models.

To everybody else, remember, Josh is just 17ish,and this is his first fast car, and like any young person, he's overly excited right now, and he has every right to be, so be a little easier on him. No reason to call anybody names or make harsh comments, and same goes back to you as well Josh, there is no need to practically say that your car is better than any car on this forum, because while it may be faster than many of the cars on here, it is by far not "better" as it's an old car, and you're gonna start running into "old car problems" just as I am, and let me tell you,old car problemssuck.[:'(]

lol well put Jeremy. I was just told it was fast and that it has tons of horses and that it beats Z06s... i was probably fed a buncha bull.. but there are some mods i can tell are in place. If it runs like 13s or something, that's no ZO6 killer, better be looking at running 12s or better.

Yeah... thats what i thought was fishy.. but was too excited to tell myself otherwise... and i like how u said 94 Camaro X rwhp lol.. at least give me the benefit of the doubt that it has the stock amount of 275.

Remember 275 is bhp, probably has around 250ish to the wheels as Camaros are fairly good at maintaining hp from the engine to the wheels.

oh wait.. it says in my Camaro Performers magazine... Eh.. it says that baseline power is 219horses and 254tq... but it doesnt say how they got that number or anything about the cars history..

meh.. they may move up to a 5.4 in the next one, but i doubt it'll hit the 400 mark. that's why the mustang rocks. you get a v8 with a little pep for a nice price. when they start throwing bigger numbers at them, the price goes up. cobra, GT500, saleen SC, etc... it only takes a ~$4k blower kit to make them outrun most all other cars on the road anyway.

They did bring the 5.0 back. It's back in the new Boss 302. The new Boss 302 engine is about 2 times better than the older windsor 5.0 like I have. If I can ever afford to do so, I'll buy a new Boss 302 and make the parts swap, add in a 347 stroker, and drop her on in as they can take much more power, and are more efficient at power than the old Windsor.........................now where's that boat load of cash?:eek::D

Yeah... The good thing about Fords are they are less expensive thats why their so commom, their a great car to start with and build up on. The thing ive heard is that the 5th gen camaro with have an LS3.. good thing about that is its got alot of nice and strong, yet light aluminum parts.

just the bare 302 boss block by itself is like 2grand isnt it [&:]

so you have 400 hp to the wheels with just a ported tb and a 4 stage tune (whatever that is)...the lt1 responds godly to bolt ons[&:]
