Wondering which tranny is the best to go with on a 351w. Personally I really really hate auto's but dunno if a manual tranny will hold the power I hope to be putting down. Anyone know the best manual tranny and horsepower rating? IF I have to go with an auto, suggestions? Thanks.

Well, I'm thinkin of running a Procharger F1R on a stroked 408. Sure ya'll know what kinda horsepower those s/c's can lay down. So needing something that can definately keep up with that. Drag strip isn't too far from the house and yes, it'll be at the track from time to time.
What manual tranny can handle the highest horsepower rating? And what rating is that? Thanks for the feedback.
Unless you have an aftermarket block rated at handling 1-2k horsepower, a stock block will blow before the TKO 600 will. Now there is a company that can beef up the tko to handle more power, i cant remember who it is. I think one the regulars like pro,jasper or adder may have mentioned it before.
Well are you talking about a stock block as in 302? Or 351? I know the F1R is rated at over 1k horsepower. I would like to aim for that but of course be MORE than happy with at least around 800 or so. I'm not gonna be spraying it of course. And to squeeze every bit of horsepower out of the s/c would be hard to do I'm sure....to get right at it's peak power. So anything even close to that would make me more than happy.
