I was looking at the car today and noticed that the drivers side front tire sticks out of the wheel well about an inch, and the passenger side tire is tucked into the well about an inch/ 1/12". What would cause this? Thanks.

As far as I can tell the frame rails seem straight. I just got the new tires, but didnt have it aligned since I ordered a new suspension, was just gonna wait til it is installed. I will check the fenders also. Thanks much.
btw, when I pulled my suspension apart I think my driver side had close to an inch and a half of shims and the passenger side a little more. Don't know if this would cause it or not but you never know. I think there was a total of 30-40 little mettal shims.

I just finished putting the rear tires back on, and the rears are off also, so I am thinking frame is bent. I know that it can be straightened back to a point, but how much does something like that run?
It cost me $1600 about 12 years ago, including a new radiator support and battery tray, to get my 66 straight. The frame shop pulled my left side out 3/4 inch and the right side, the one that got hit, out 1/2 inch. I don't know the why, just the fix. This was done in San Jose, not known for cheap labor rates so do a 'guesstimate' on what I had done, where and how long ago to what you thing you need. I supplied the body parts.

Unless the car is driving like your crabbing or slipping... or your tires are wearing strangely, or you're hitting that driver's tire on the fender.... go have a beer and forget you ever noticed.

I second this. Especially if it's not "dog-legging", I wouldn't sweat it. Most of these car "move" in some way over the course of 40 plus years. My 67 Impala's rear end was off by 1/2-3/4 of an inch which may have been bushing related (I never had a chance to replace them). Maybe the rear axle isn't centered on the leafs? Is that possible?

I guy at work followed me the other day, and he said the car looked straight, so I guess I will go have that beer. Well, I have to go to the field for a few days, then I will have the beer.
If it is still off when I put the new suspension in it, maybe I will worry about it then.
