Must be a smattering of info from various install threads but I don't recall a recent summary of FoMoCo or aftermarket hoods that clear a Whipple. Anyone with a verified install of both Whipples and hoods combos that have no clearance issues?
What are the options to change clearance with engine mounts?
the GT500 hood has major clearance issues with the whipple. Might just be on the gt500 engine though, can't remember if it was a gt500 or a gt with a hood swap.

You have wrong information. There are no clearance issues with the whipple S/C and the stock, or any other hood.

Sorry, drbobvs, I said one thing and meant another. Damn dysphasia! Nice to know that aftermarket hoods for the GT will clear the Whipple. I just didn't want to remove or cut holes in the liner to my stock hood like is necessary for some? So based on the pathetic yet compelling excuse of leaving my stock hood and liner in their virginal and unseparated state, I'll just have to swap them with a nice aftermarket hood!
the instructions do recommend removing your hood liner. It says the pulley may rub at highway speeds.

the whipple pulley did rub on my hood liner, just as the manual predicted. i didn't want to remove the whole liner, so i just cut out a small piece of the liner (about 2" X 4")
so far, i see no negative results from doing this.
I would take off the liner, or cut out just a small section as insurance. These hoods flex like crazy at speed.
I would think the friction could in theory cause one to break a belt. I plan on just removing the liner, although cutting a relief hole might be wortyh trying. Eventually I want to get a fiberglass hood to help with underhood temperatures.
get new motor mounts. it will lower the engine a bit , and you won't have to worry about it. plus with the added power it will keep the engine from torquing as much

Do you have the poly mounts? I do and I didn't like the added vibration. Mine are not the lowered ones, i imagine the lowered mounts are worse for vibration.
