Default *FIXED* Odometer not working

My odometer and trip. stopped working the other day. This sucks because my fuel gauge isnt that accurate and I used my trip. to figure when about I needed some gas. Anyone else have this happen? And did you get it fixed?

Only thing I can think of is I might have done something when I changed the oillast which was incedenly when I noticed it not working. But the only thing I did out of the ordinary was remove the aftermarket alarm horn and cut off some random wire that was coming from the firewall that was not connected to anything.

So I figured out what the problem was. Turns out the odometer assembly works a lot like the rear axle. The speedometer has a small motor connected to it that has a drive gear that is similar to the pinion in the rear end. The pinion spins a larger gear that resembles a ring gear and from there is rotates the odometer contraption. Anyway, the teeth on the ring gear part were stripped off, so as you can imagine, if you destroyed your rear diff. you wont move. Lucky for me, I had a spare gauge cluster, so I just swapped out the damaged part.
