4inches? You going to need to bag it to get it that low and still be able to drive around. never going to get a decent ride if you want to run that low. You are better off dropping about 2 to 2.5 still get a decent ride and far better handling charctistics then being stock height or to low.

2 inch is about it..depends on what spring rate you want

BAGS BLOW!!! Not only are they notorious for air line problems they ride for s**t.

1.5" is about the limit if you want to keep the same ride characteristics. 2.5" is probably the max. 4" is just plain ridiculous. below 1.5"it gets harsher but will handle better if you invest in new shocks/struts, bushings and other things. checkout eibach's or steeda's webpage, they seem to havea good handle on these things.</P>

lolz 4" thats insane... no more than an inch to keep a comfortable ride, you can go 1.5" and get an ok ride, a 2" drop and you can feel a possum fart on the road.

Put her on bags! Heh</P>

My friend has bags in his Trans Am, and the ride is so incredibly smooth, it's awesome.</P>

Just like everything you can do to a car, it has it's problems if the butthole who did it, didn't do everything the way he should have. Don't slam something without proof <IMG src=smileys/smiley3.gif border="0"></P>

I happen to know 4 people with air-bags installed and not one of them has had any problem whatsoever. Has anyone seen a old station wagon painted white with purple flames and huge 18" wheels on air bags? Pure shaggin' wagon</P><edited><editID>Dan02GT</editID><editDate>37919.5789930556</editDate></edited>

I was eighther thinking of getting the Eibach Pro kit but i heard they arent stiff enough to dramtically increase performence, So i was looking at the H&amp;R which lower it 1.7-2 inches and are stiffer than eibach, 25-30% stiffer than stock... what do u guys think? Eibach lower 1.5, H&amp;R a little more about 2 inches, im getting bilstein shocks, caster camber, and bushins, still dont know which springs, HELP ME!

I heard that Eibach Sportline are alot stiffer(and better) than the prokit...
That's what I'm installing(along with Tokico5-way and Kenny B. Caster camber plates). Go to stangnet.com and read the forums on suspension. You'll get some more help with your springs. </P>

<IMG src=smileys/smiley13.gif border="0">My friend has H&amp;R on his 01 Cobra, but it just dropped the hell out of that car.It also looks like the back is lower than the front.. I hate that. </P>

I've got the H&amp;R's on mine, I like them. The fronts are a hell of a lot stiffer but that's because of the torque arm.

My '91 is as about as low as can get it and still have a decent ride, i'm not sure how much its been lowered but I do know its from ground control. If you want to see a pic jut go to my gallery. (I'd put it right below where i'm writing but I don't know how to get it over here)

* How much did the H & R's lower your stang? I'm about to install the H & R Super Sport springs on my 2003 Mach 1 and am currious how low they'll lower my car. Pluses and minuses?

Hey are shocks and struts really that important to buy? What are the drawbacks from just buying lowering springs and not even bothering with anything else? Is there any damage that could happen later along the line?

yes, if you do not buy shocks and lower your caronce you go over a bump the car will start bouncing and take a while to become stable, some shocks will blow because of the stiffer springs, the best shocks would be to get the Bilstein Sports, they are 614 bucks for 2 shocks and 2 struts</P>

anyway, my friend has bbk springs w/kyb strutson his 96' gt and it rides smooth as hell, and handles awesome...just my $.02...now ifi could just find a stiffer spring that won't really lower my 5.0 more than half an inch...stupid long tubes <IMG src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0"></P>

i have bags on my blazer and they ride smooth, there is a breaking in point to where they ride rough but as soon as they are broke in they ride great. also the pressure in the bags has alot to do with ride quality

Is this for show or a daily driver? You'll probably tear everything from the driveshaft to the exhaust out from underneath the car the first bump you hit. I would say 2.5" max.
