octane blends
Anyone know of a reason not to blend 100 octane (automobile) gas with lower octane rated gas to obtain the equivalent 91 or 93 gas? And if blending is ok what would the proper recepies look like?

RE: octane blends
This may be a dumb reply, but why would you want to dilute 100Oct fuel? Normally we jump through burning hoops to get it !!

RE: octane blends
more details please cause if you dulute it to 91 or 93, then why not just fill the tank up with it.........

RE: octane blends
I can only get 91 octane gasoline where I live but I'd like to use93 octane gas tunes.
Isn't "extra" octane wasted octane? That is, beyond what a tune requires to prevent predetonation (93 tune), higher octane doesn't add performance, right? |

RE: octane blends
The 100 octane gasoline I refer to is produced by Sunoco and is formulated without lead but with detergents and such to be used in "regular" vehicles. Sets you back about $5.80 a gallon.
Thanks for the chart 07GTEddy. |
RE: octane blends
I purchased my 100 octane from a pump at a Citgo Petro Express Station...$5.99 a gallon [>:]
