Hey all. I just bought a Mustang on Saturday and thought I'd come here and see what all I can do with it. It's an '04 convertible. Competition Orange with black leather seats and a black top. I got the extended warranty on it (it's covered bumper to bumper for 100,000 miles.) I've been looking ariund at mods, but I don't know what I can do that won't void the warranty. Any ideas? I'e seen some black bullit wheels online and they would look sweet on my car, but the salesperson said changing wheels is considered messing with the axles. Hmmmm
i dont know particulars about what voids warrantees but i do know that...for example if you put rims on ur car and the axles break and they prove the rims caused the damage then they wont fix it...however if you throw a rod it will not void that...it will only void specific parts that are affected by the mod.....that said there arent many things that i would recommend you doing until the warranty is up and for you with the 100,000 mile warranty i would say that you have a hell of a wait ahead of you.

congrats on the purchase. awesome color too. before you do any mods check with ford if that mod will void your warranty. i know forced induction will void it. i believe an after market shifter will void the tranny warranty. not sure on that tho. i think your safe with exhaust mods.

Here's what I've done so far. Just do all bolt ons and save all your stock parts. If anything major happens, it's worth the time to put the stock shizz back on. They can't tell if you have things like rear end gear changed, which I recommend immediately. [sm=smiley20.gif]
Congrats on the purchase! I don't know what voids the warranty, but you can safely put some exhaust mods on there, appearance mods, and if you choose, you can most likely get some new gears.
yep keep the stock stuff just in case. i dont have any warranties but i have a collection of stock parts in my attic and i dont think they will bring in much $$ from ebay... but if you got the warranty, keep what you take off and if something happens, switch it out.
