Yep.

The motor is going to require replacement. I won't let them 'fix' this without replacing.

BUT....I may have an idea.

Dan what do you need to know ford has a few options even if you are out of the basic warranty One is PO5 and the other is PO7. What is the miles on the car and do you have any extended warranty if over the 36,000. Let me know I can try to help you out.

I was sitting in the drive-thru at BK and all of asudden I was hearing a deep knocking noise coming from under the car. I got home and took a stetho to it.

Then I drained some oil and she's got some extra glittery oil..

I have the standard 3/36 and I purchased the extended warranty.

Thing is...I planned on trading her in for a Mach1...but if I can pick up a Mach 1 motor or even a Cobra motor from Ford......Oh yeah, has 31,000 miles.

The Ford rep for the dealership will be involved because it will be over the dollar amount threshold that the service manager can make decisions on.However, you probably won't have much say in how it gets fixed being that you aren't paying for it.

Yeah, but if I can buy the motor myself and if it comes with a warranty, and if it won't void the tranny/rear warranty...

If not, I'll just go with the replacement engine.

ooh i wouldnt count on it not voiding the warranty if you could even get the engine.  if anything whatsoever goes wrong with anything they'll blame it on that i bet.

That would be a big swap job,the whole front harness for the engine and the body are tied together,it all would need to be replaced. Not to mention all the other little things that won't fit.I don't think I would like having the average dealer tech doing that to my car. Not that any of that would be covered under warranty anyway.nostang37913.8323842593

Not so true you can go on line thru ford  and get approvel with out having a ford rep come out inless your dealership has had too high of a warranty claim problem. Themn yes large claims would need a rep to ok. Where I work we do it all the time on trans exchanges and long block exchanges ,but we do not have any warranty concerns thru ford.

Ford will not allow the engune swap and keep things under warranty. Have them perform the needed repairs. Some shops will fix the problem with new bearings and so forth others will do a short block exchange it is normally the techs call on what needs to be done.
