No, I prefer to have all my parts painted locally. For some reason the batch of paint used on my car at ford is slightly off from the norm. Both times I have had stuff painted it took the paint shop four times to get the color right. The color they mixed both times was slightly darker and has a very very light purple to it compared to my paint. So they would have to remix, this last time they got the color close but there was only like 10 flakes per inch so they had to add a larger silver flake to get it right.
In the right light from the right angle on the drivers side you can see all 3 shades, but for the most part every thing matches very well except when you stand in that one spot. My dad likes to joke with me and call it "My little Pinto" now it took me a second to figure out the joke. He was big in to the OLD Lone ranger with Clayton Moore. In the show The Indian Tonto rode a spotted horse witch is also called a pinto. I thought it was funny but I guess you would have to have watched the lone ranger to get the hummer. I fortunately was brought up watching the old shows, Gunsmoke, raw hide, the real McCoy's. most 24yr olds wouldn't have any clue what these shows were about but I am glade to say these show are a lot better then the show that are now on TV. I am glade that they are coming out with all the old shows on DVD. I Just went out and got F troop!!!
it is allot of work. My dad thought i was Nuts, Pulling apart a perfectly good set of headlights.
It is well worth the time. I thought about trying to find a set of GOOD used lights or even buy a new set and pull those apart that way if i did destroy them i would not have to worry about pulling the front end apart. But i figured it would be a good learning Experirance to pull the front end. I did see on ebay about 6months ago a guy was selling them at like 300 a set which is really not bad. Right now there are chrome one out there which IMO would be a little ricy
As far as clearance,<<<<<<<See picture, i was not sure how to explain this Yellow line is the stock location. Orange is a drive way entrance>>>>>>> Today was the first day i have dorve it and it sits about 1/2in lower but... being the lip sits more flush with the front end I did scrap a time or two pulling in too drive ways. i think it is just going to be a learning curve and i will need to remember to slow down
Thanks for the response, meh 1/2in isnt bad at all, definetly worth it for the looks, the car looks badass with the front air dam.

Looks great. Absolutely love the front air dam. Where did you get the pony trunk lining from?

placement on the scoops is ez do to the that they follow the body lines. On mine i had to go about 1/8in lower then the upper body fold and right up to the wheel well fold. They pretty much just place them selves all you have to do is peel and stick
I used a greas pincil befor peeling that way i knew where to apply the addeshion promoter
this is where i got the airdam and scoops. If i remeber correctly There was like a 5% or 10% discount because of motheres day, you juts had to enter the code that was posted on the product pages. Also i thought shipping was very resonable. $45. but a little slow, 2weeks. When you think about people one ebay charging $50 to ship a $50 grill this was nothin
maby wait until labor day and see if something come up in the way of a sales code

I really like the side scoops! I've seen some that do not follow the contour of the car's lines. To me, this makes it look more like a factory install and not just an add on. I'm making notes of all the items and brands that I want to mod with.....this will be added.

Wow man, the car has come together great. I like how you have pieced everyting together....really one of my favorites. Finding rims might be tricky as its set up now without them, but with all the selections you be able to have some fun looking. Have you thought about mirror inserts?

I gotta cosign on everything that you said!
By the way I just ordered the Xenon C scoops from that site. It came up to $126.94 (unpainted). I usually get my friend that works at a bodyshop to do it for me. Other than that, the site was gonna charge an additional $170 to paint em. Thanx for the link man!

thanks guys, I value everyones opinions here at MF
Rmay06 what are these mirror inserts you speak of? are you talking about the covers from http://www.midwestautogear.com/ If so i have already painted the mirrors. I am thinking about getting the the covers that go over the headlights on either side of the radiator cover.
Scheetz your car looks great. Are your quarter louvers from Roush? Because the combo of the quarters and side scoops look great, and I'm definetly considering the same combo. I hope I can find someone by me to paint the xenon's for less than $170.00.

+1 to the front chin, i love mine. It's the best looking one on our body style period. It's going to be hard when i get a GT, as they don't make many chins that have this same curve/angles.
scheetz83--Where did you get the trunk liner??? And on the Xenon side scoops, how far off the car do they stick out?
Plus, on the adhesion promoter, does any one know if that damages the paint? (incase someday a person removed the scoops, would there be paint damage underneath from the promoter used?) There is no sanding on the paint involved on the car? (seen one place where you had to lightly scuff the body paint to give texture for the tape to stick)
On the scoops they stick out about 2 inches. as far as the promoter i am not sure on what it will do to the paint. It does leave a coating which i don't think will come off after removing a item BUT when ever sticking something on a car DO use promoter and be carful when installing once the tape touches the promoter your committed!!
the only time i have scuffed a area was On my rear lip. It had a goofy bend which after a week one of the sides unstuck from the car due to the tension. I had to pull up the one side behind the rear wheel clean scuff and promoter its been fine ever since
