Well I'm basically flat broke right now. I have a little cash left for mods, but don't have enough to get anything really worthwhile, so I thought about doing something visually. What do you guys think about racing stripes on my sonic blue vert gt? What color should I go with and how much do they normally run? I'm new to the whole racing stripe thing, I just think they look cool.
Oh I have stainless steel bumper inserts so you probably have to take that into consideration when advising a color, b/c clashing =
i think this would look really cool, ive never seen it but ive always thought that this with the same bumper inserts would be hot. if you got a blue car, get one shade darker blue and stripe the car that color and the bump inserts that color. it would be like a ghost shadow stripe. i think it would look sweet. it wont stand out a lot but it will catch eyes. if you cant find vinyl, get it painted. or photoshop it and post it here so we can see.

I was thinking either white or silver, but w/ the white won't it clash w/ the SS inserts, or am I wrong? If anyone has pics of sonic blue GTs w/ stripes i would love to see em...
I think white or silver would be awesome!! I think the silver would clash a bit with the SS inserts... I have silver stripes sitting here that I'm putting on in the spring and they just don't seem to go well with the SS. I wanted to get the SS inserts too but I was afraid it would look funny.
Anyways, you could get some reflective racing stripes. I know stang-graphics.com has some there, but they're a bit more expensive than the regular option.

Yeah, thats what I though also, they are almost the same color, just one is shiny. I would say get silver or take the SS inserts out and get the gold stripes.

Then again, it depends on what your stripes look like-- I have the stripes right now sitting in a box, no inserts, and when I imagine it, I think it would look weird. I actually found some inserts today online I plan on ordering-- they're reflective and silver, so they'll match but reflect at night.
I had a few people tell me SS might clash, but I guess it's all up to what you think about it.

ack thats the problem, I suck when it comes to matching colors and stuff lol. I really can't just "think" about it and decide if two colors would look good together, I know its sad

Haha, I'm a girl and I'm unsure sometimes, and supposedly girls are supposed to be good at that sorta thing.
the gold does look sharp. i think i would still do gold with ss inserts. im like you too i want stripes but cant imagine what color would look good with black. baltimore street mods does sell vinyl cheap but i dont think they sell gold.
i was at a vinyl shop in west edmonton mall and i was looking at metallic copper for my black stang. damn it looked good but it would cost me $210 for the vinyl.
anyone know where i could find different colors besides what baltimore street mods sells for cheap?
not sure on the white, or the gold for that matter. If i'm going to go w/ a color that is different that the inserts, it'll prob be gold. But still no one seems to know if that will clash w/ the SS or not...
