Car number is 864. it's 2000 S281 SC

I spooke to both Casey and Mark. Casey didn't know if it's Alcon or Saleen and didn't have any in stock. He is checking on alcon pads though because Mark said that they are probably Alcon's. He has some Hawks i guess but he needs to order them etc...

I would just like to know the part number so i can check the pricing around different places before i purchase them. Someone must have it when they ordered them...

Thanks for your help... Let me know what do you think my car has as far as brake system.

Amel

Ok this isnt adding up. Heres the Info on your car

00-864 Vin 018 P42 (Coupe) Shiped 8/29/00
First Owner Barbara Moenich IL
Options: Super Charger,
Floor Mats, Chrome Wheels

If it were a 00, it would have Alcons that cost $2,682, but it says your car didnt come with the brake upgrade, only 107 people got the brake upgrade in 00.

So what i need you to do is take a picture of the calipers, or i can describe them to you, if there Saleen/Brenmbo the caliper will look much like that of a 00 Cobra R, all smouth on the front, if there Alcons they have a type of a colling fn on them.

I'll take a picture when i get home and i'll post it here... From what i can tell when i took the pads out and i expected them a little. They are black 4 caliper, with yellow saleen letters on them. The color black is kind of flat... they are smooth and very light...

I thought that all supercharged models came with the brake upgrade kit... Mine also has the reverse vent hood... I'll post some pics here tonight when i get home...

Regarding the comment that all supercharged models come with the upgraded brakes:

Nope. The 13" brakes were always an additional option on the S/C and N/A models.

You said that the paint was kind of a flat black with saleen lettering. It's possible that the person purchased a set of brakes (brembo, baer, etc) and spraypainted the caliper flat black. Then they bought a saleen caliper graphic (they sell them on ebay occasionally) and put it over top the painted caliper.

I think you'll probably have to post a close-up picture or have someone look at it to be sure.

Looks like there Alcons, the Alcons heat up alot and the paint wears off, imo the alcons are a much better brake than the brembos, take a colse up pic so i can be 100% sure

Also the only SC cars that got brakes standard were S351 R's and S281 E's, Getting an SC model did not mean you got the 13' brake upgrade.

Well, here is a LINK and you can fire them off an e-mail and see if maybe they made them custom as they do not seem to be Saleen installed

as our good friend on Johnny Carson used to say......"I did not know that!"

I guess that makes sense as I looked again after I posted. I can see the "A" was the Greek form and not usually the case with NON-Saleen parts.

So I figure you can get parts from AP directly and they will work with you to get replacement ones that fit your driving needs

So the pads are no longer available? or just a PITA to get? Either way, I wish you luck in resolving the issue and getting on the go, or should I say "stop" again.

Those were Installed after the car left Saleen, by a previous owner, they must have bought the kit from speed lab, if you have trouble getting the pads let me know we use AP racing pads/calipers on all the Nascar tour cars we build
