Believe it or not, but back in the day I was a defensive end ... I played linebacker for a little while, then DE when I lost speed and gained weight, lol. The highest I ever got was 196 ... right now I'm 149. How much you weigh?

And our minimum wage is $5.50, so stop bitchin.

Yea, I can imagine ... I'm pretty sure NOLA is one of the cheaper cities in America to live in, hence the reason that low minimum wage really isn't THAT bad. Although I was loved how the theater payed me $5.50, and I had to pay $8.50 to see a movie when I wasn't working. Pretty much burned an hour and a half worth of work.

the movie theaters dont make their money off of the ticket sales, they make their money off of the consession sales, which are also jacked way high. all the corporate workers get paid big.  i work a regal in Ga.

I work at Regal here in Washington... And yeah, prices are crazy.. Everyone below the GM gets like 7.93 up to like 10 bucks.. the GM of the theatre and up gets paid the big bucks... its stupid... I usually work my entire shift during hte week as an Usher by myself rushing from theatre to theatre trying to clean as much as i can.. the opening of Bourne Ultimatum was horrible.. not to mention we had 5 palates of Marjack shipments and I had to do that myself too.. I was moving so fast and working so hard i was sweating like a mofo.. But the GM was just chillin.. in the office.. eating red robins.. pissin me off.. lol..  i cant wait til i turn 18 so i can get a job at the Ford or Chevy dealership down town and make real money..

You said you were gonna be a lot boy, right? They don't make much more than what you're getting now. $10/hour is the most I've ever seen a lot boy make.

And yes, this is the gayest thread in this forum's history. Even gayer than the OT thread about shaving your pubes.

I don't think it's that gay ...

And yea Stallion, I hear ya. I was going to be a porter at a local Mazda dealership for $12.00 an hour, but I didn't take the job since I would have only been working there a month, tops, with me moving out to Mississippi in the fall.

Jthorn, if you read this, I'll probably be transferring to LSU next year ... We should race a few times to and from NOLA.

Also, @ Stallion, I know what you mean. When I worked at AMC I busted my balls doing all the work while the "Blue shirts" would just chill in the back and BS and yell at the people below them when they went on break. It was illegal for anyone under 18 to work for more than 8 hours straight ... one time I get yelled at because I didn't go on break for 12 hours, even though I specifically asked for a break MANY times.

Yeah.. this threads not that bad.. but of course if one person thinks its gay, then to fit in everyones gotta think its gay..

Anyway, i was thinking about it, and for the hours i put in at the Theatre, if i was to make like 8.25/hr instead of 7.93.. id have a rather larger paycheck rather than 200 and under a paycheck.

Agreed. And also, you should probably make more as a porter. If I could make $12 doing it, you should be able to make more ... I kind of regret not taking that job, but what you gonna do, eh? I'd definitely say do it. I know people that do it. Easy job, good money. Somewhat bad hours (down here anyway).

Yeah, my manager flipped out during the opening of Transformers, there was 2 people at consessions (me and this chick who started the week before) and we had huge lines on like a wednesday night. I worked through my break kuz i couldnt just leave her out there... and then one of my managers (shes like 4'8") came out and asked if i went on break and i said no kuz i couldnt leave the new girl out htere alone (she gave away 4 hotdogs for free on her 1st day by accident) So i get yelled at and the manager was like, who told you that you get to decide not to take your break and blah blah blah. After work i told her that im not diggin the way shes treating people around here and if she doesnt stop that id complain to the district manager who works upstairs... shes been nicer than ever lol... Basically another manager (who hates her equally as I) had told me to just confront her about it... kuz she acts all high and mighty, but when someone gets in her face and calls her out she becomes a pushover.

^^^ Yea, that definitely sounds like the whole time I worked at AMC. It's horrible man. The managers get put on a power trip and such ... Some of the people that worked there were pretty cool, but all of the higher ups were douchbags.

I'd definitely say take the porter job holmes.

Yep. Funny thing is, as I was making $5.50 an hour, they were making $6.15 an hour ... So they got paid what, $.65 more than me to boss me around? Always did annoy me, lol.

Just found out I'm transferring out of Southern Miss either this spring, or next fall. Either LSU or ULM pretty much.

Yeah, washington pays nicely... but takes away a **** load in taxes. For an 18 year old kid whos stil in HS and only pays insurance gas (and the price of the car)... less than 400 bucks would just barely get me by.. As of now all my money goes straight to the bank to afford to buy a car and then ill have to work another couple months to get the opening insurance price which is like the 1st and last month or w/e.
