I believe the thread has to do with the '01 Bullitt and a post to help him would be a bit more appropriate.
What most of the guys have felt is that what Ford does can be changed, modified, improved upon, etc. That is what this is about to my understanding but I am open to correction at any time! It is also what fuels the aftermarket also!

I have deceided to keep the stock air intake hose and just get a S&B filter for the stock aircan. Remember I have a '99 GT convertible with the SVO intake, very similar to the Bullitt intake. Wanting to use the strut tower bar that came with the intake when I bought it and having the vert I am making my own system. I moved the fog lights inboard and am using a scoop I fashioned and have a 4" polished aluminum pipe after the "scoop" that feeds the air to another 4" section of the same aluminum piping right into the stock aircan. This way I can use the strut tower bar with some sort of outside air coming into the engine. Actually I find that the oncoming air cools according to my SCT Xcal that is reading the intake air temps. They seem to drop with speed. Of course there is no such thing as a true ram air system but this does have oncoming air entering the system at a better(maybe?!)way than the inner fender would as that always seemed like stagnant air that did not change much. My JLT CAI filter did not get dirty in a summer's use. I will have to get a mesh "grille" fashioned before it is finished but it is an option. Otherwise I say JLT if a strut tower bar is not an issue with you who started the thread. www.jlttruecoldair.com I believe and they have a nice looking system for the bullitt, new, but it will not allow the strut tower bar, bummer for me!

Go with the JLT for your bullitt from their site, you can get it matched to your paint and it looks great and performs as well.
