i have a stock 2000 3.8L mustang, auto
wondering if this would beat my friends acura rsx
his is stock and rated on sites at 160 hp but his is manual
when i look for hp on mine it says 145 - 193
so how many HP does stock 2000 3.8 have
who has better odds in a drag race?

99-04 3.8's have 190hp at the crank......

Id think it would be a driver's race since his isa manual.

actually 99-00 have 190hp and the 01-04 have 193hp[:D]

If he is stock, he might jump you on the line, but you should reel him in. depends on the shape your car is in.

if u can drive ur auto n dont spin bad at the start then u have him....still a drivers race tho....jst race n find out...it will be a good one

i do plan on putting the K&N ram intake on and thats about it until i round up a bit more cash

does this help any, i used to have a cavalier i believe rated 115 HP something along there lol and he attempted to pass me and was not able to : / so if that tells you something about his driving i dont know . . .[:D]

Make sure the car is in great shape: fuel filter, fuel injector cleaner, tire press. 35psi at least, air filter w/o silencer, good oil/fluids, ignition parts, etc before you worry with speed parts.
Practice your launch, and beat him bad. It's not the newer 200Hp one is it? In that case you would lose, in theory. You need to find a good rpm to break stand, and come out of the hole quick and keep rolling.

no his is a bit older 04 or something i cant remember but i looked it up on something lol (helpful eh?) and there was two models 160 hp and 190hp and the 190 it said had six speed manual and his was a five speed manual so yeah

 The  Rsx should have a weight advantage.
