Default Wheel Help!! (Fast)

-Does anyone have Vintage wheels on the mustang? If so, post pics.
-I going to buy 17x8 Vintage V40 wheels Tues. I was just wondering if anyone knows what backspace/offset I need?
-Before I make my final decision, Does anyone know if having a media-blasted center is a pain to keep clean?

17x9 with a 5.5" backspace all the way round and you can do 245/40/17 front and 275/40/17 rear, or get different sized wheels widths for front/rear. http://www.dodgestang.com/Tire%20Fit...ide%2067-8.pdf

Im goin to get 43/4 but does "offset" really matter? I checked TT2's and with the same backspace theres a diffrent offset than on V40 wheels.
TT2's- 33/4 BS +8mm offset
V40's- 33/4 BS +6mm offset

What does offset really mean?
