hahaha they dyno tested the 1969 boss 429 in mustangs & fords magazine and they got these #'s actual rear wheels horse " 214 hp/324 lb-ft " and estimated at flywheel " 250 hp/379 lb-ft " and factory rating is " 375 hp/450 lb-ft ???, these #'s should be way higher than that ?

Yeah, it's only 34 years old...
besides, the 375 was gross hp wasn't it? Not net? My dodge 360 puts out about 225/360 with a cam, intake manifold, holley carb, and exhaust. (of course, it has to go through 35" tires and a 3-speed auto, so it's got a bit of a handicap, but still)
the hp rating years ago was an engine that was takin aside and blanced and blueprinted with no accessiories ..later in the 80's hp was with the accs. on the engine

the spark plugs are goin through the heads, talk about a monster engine yall, that engine could put out 600 hp or more in that stock form, and this dude was bein funny and said he saturn has spark plugs goin through the heads to lol, a saturn lol

The interesting thing about the Boss9 was that they were way undercammed had too small of carb, and had some of the worst exhaust manifolds ever made. A set of headers, a nice lumpy solid cam and two 850 Holleys and that thing will scare the hell out of you, trust me..
