I'm 25 and going into my first year as a senior in college (I hope to get my b.s. in mech engineering within 2 more years), but I make crap at my job.  Only $11/hr....so after rent, gas, and bills, I only have like $300 left a month.  Most of that is going out with friends and eating.  But I usually try to spend $100 a month on things I want, for the last 6 weeks, every little bit I've been saving has been going into my dream of nitrous.  Ebay helps out a lot, you'd be surprised how much stuff you have and don't use that other people will want.  Other than that, I usually wait till tax time and my birthday to get good things.

17, working to save up enough to buy another car with 7.93/hr at the movie theatre (get movies for free which saves me a load of cash on dates) and over 3000 in the bank. Every pay check goes straight into my bank. If im hungry or want some food thats not around the house i gotta scrounge up some change and go buy a power bar or some sunflower seeds and a bottle of water... I also work side jobs for a family friend who own a Tree and Landscape service.. Right now im painting their deck and doing yard work for em. Just got done running errands for em and watching their house while they were in Europe for 2 weeks and got paid $220 for driving their company car, getting their mail and delivering checks to the bank.. which took less than an hour so im not complaining. Plus i got 200 for doing like 5 hours of painting but they paid me for 25 hours which is nice lol... I get money but its never in my pockets.

Hmm, well my first mods were paid for with my first summer job money that I had saved for college... My parents wanted me to experience manual labor and I worked in a shed where they packaged potatos over the summer... Really made me sure I was going to college and never doing a job like that again, haha. This next wave of mods I've purchased started with Graduation money and the remainder of my savings plus this summer I'm bagging groceries at $7.75/hr... I've really learned how much trouble a credit card can get you in this summer, haha, it's so convenient and easy just to type in a number and get stuff! Until you get the bill at the end of the month... Took some playing around with but I got the bill paid off within the month, so it's all good! Hoping to keep working in college though and have all my college tuition and such taken care of so money should be going into some savings and some into my car(/new car fund?) We'll see!

Good new for me. I just got hired at the Dodge dealership for sure, I start Monday at 1. $8 an hour for the first month, then $9 after that. Oh and time and a half for every hour over 40hrs/week. When I got my schedule for my old job I was scheduled for THREE days all month. So I'm just gonna quit there and go to Dodge.

What are you doing there? I'm assuming lot boy or something, if you're getting paid so little.

pfft.  I live in tx, and I make $14.50  an hour.  I'm a baseball umpire, so i stand there and put a ball in a machine and call kids out or safe, and I make 15 bucks a game.  They're like 8 year olds, so its super easy.  My paycheck at the end of the season was 1400 bucks, and thats for 3 months of working, for like 3 days a week.  I would have made more, but it freaking rained every day for a month just about, so that screwed me over.

I'm starting a 2nd job on tuesday.  My friensd dad owns a restaurant here, and hes gonna let me wait tables and set my own schedule.  We make like 2.30/hr, but usually you make about 7 bucks a table at 15% tips.  You keep your own tips as well, no pooling BS.  He said they do like 4 hour shifts, and that if you work you can easily make 40 bucks a night in tips.  I plan to work practically every day until school startsin a month so I can earn some damn money.

I don't go for minimum wage jobs.  I find jobs that pay well.  I don't pay taxes either.  I don't think I earn enough, and my employers dont give the w2 or whatever it is, so i just assume I dont have to pay taxes.  I don't think the IRS is gonna come after a kid who makes like 2 grand a year.  THat would be my taxable pay.  Tips are non taxable I'm pretty sure.

I don't really mod my car though.  I pay for gas and insurance, and I"ve got 3 grand in my bank account.

You know how I keep my money?  No girlfriend.  I hang out with girls, but theres no reason to get serious, we're not gonna get married, and I'm not gonna risk gettin' some while I'm still under my parents control until I turn 18 in a year and a half.  I'll wait till college when I can do whatever the **** I want.

Damn, that's bad, so far I'm the highest paid, and there is a chance my pay will rise again soon, I'm hoping 14/15ish an hour if I get what I want and deserve.

Oh, to all those that don't know, I currently work at Home Depot as a Millworks, that's doors and windows, specialist, which is pretty much the highest ranking assosiate, so high we make more than some unfortunate standard level department managers, specialty manager FTW. Oh, 40 hours a week and full time student.

I waited tables at Friendly's for about two weeks. Then one day the regional manager came in and told me I can't do it anymore cause waiters can't have tattoos. I usually worked a 4 hour shift at $5.65/hour, and brought home between $50 and $65 a night in tips. It's a really good way to make money if you're good with people. Oh, and when you do wait tables, and parents have little kids or something, talk to the kids. Parents eat that **** up.

Never waited tables, but I've heard it's great money for kids in college that's too lazy to work full time, and or kids in high school. Don't mean to offend anybody by that first phrase, but think about it, it's generally true.
