Just got a few ?'s about my 4.10gears and T-Lok:
1.What's the best install price u think I'll find for these?
2. How many tenths u think I can pick up in the 1/4 and in the 60ft w/good STREET tires?
3. Will take offs seem a whole lot faster?
4. How many mpg do u think I'll lose or gain with these driving normally?
5. What's the break in period for the gearsI'll have, I hear take it easy for a 100 miles and do the 3 or 4 15min normal drivingruns with 30min cool downs?
Thanx for the help ahead of time!

standard break-in i believe is about 100-500 miles, depending on the gearset? but u should have to worry about anything. hell, i jumped in my old 5.0 when i swapped the 4.10's and ripped off a big smoke show right away. haha. u should be fine. swap em, and drive it normally for a bit. install price, im guessing in the low 200's.

[ol][*]I paid $350 for the install of my 4.10's and t-lock. I've seen prices that were lower, and higher, but figure on at least $300 to install gears and a LSD in our 7.5" rears.[*]A couple 1/10ths maybe, but you'll find that the street tires are now much harder to hook up with the 4.10's.[*]By take-offs, do you mean mufflers? The stock V6 muffler IS restrictive, so even a GT muffler is good for about 7hp.[*]City mileage will improve with 4.10's, but highway mileage will drop 1-2 mpg.[*]I've heard 250 miles, but I've also heard 3 heat cycles is all you need to do before putting a strain on the rear-end. But don't bang on them right away.[/ol]

Avoid buying your gears from National Drivetrain. Their gears don't fit in our stangs and it cost me $100 for shipping and my stang hanging in the lift for 5 days because their MotiveGeardont fit! Refund is a pain in the a## charging me $100 bucks for shipping as if it's my fault why I bought my gears through them. BADDD customer service so beware!

You won't get as good as a reponse from the 3:73 as the 4:10 plus the added weight of the GT rear end will bring that down even less...How much I don't know.
I have had both 4:10's and 3:73's, and advise you to install 3:73's. My 60' times are the same on DR's with either gear set. The 3:73's will give you better mileage. Plus I went my quickest with 3:73's.
It is worth your while to find a good shop to install them!
