Default Vert in Car Wash

Not really vert TECH...but.

Good idea? Bad Idea? I know the best is to do it yourself, but where I bought the car from gives free car washes any time if you bought the car there. I drive past there like every day. Anyway, it's got the vinyl top, not the cloth top. Will an Auto car wash hurt anything?

Here is what the manual says.

“Using high water pressure or wand-type car washes against the convertible top and windows may cause water leaks and possible seal damage.”

I take mine through an automatic brushless wash, jets only, about every 2 months. Does an excellent job cleaning the underbody.

Taken mine through the touchless washes a few times. The worst I've seen is a small dribble of water from one seal (put a chamois leather or paper towel there & no problem).

Prefer to wash by hand but when arriving at a show with a billion bugs splattered on the front sometimes there's no choice. Compromise & use a wand wash but keep the jet away from the roof if you're worried.

I would hope you wouldn't go through it with the top DOWN. but I never do anything but a hand wash. I take it to a local car wash since my apartment community doesn't have a car wash area, I spray it down, wash by hand, and then spray her clean.

I only only go to a 100% hand wash only, I make sure its a place where they wash and dry in front of me and dry with chamoi and a microfiber cloth
