Default '02 GT tire gap

I think that I read a long time ago that Ford did a little tweaking to the '03+ Mustang GT suspension. My '02 GT has enormous wheel gap. Anybody know why?

The Eiboch sportline springs are suposed to drop a GT just less that 2" right? I am wondering if the sportline springs would drop my GT a little more and reduce the ugly tire gap 4x4 look.

All mustangs have a big tire gap. Not just the 03's, the eibach pro kit drops your car 1.5 inches. It will reduce the gap but not entirely. Instead of having a 4 fingered gap you'll have a about a 2.5 finger gap. But dont forget to change the shocks or else they'll be gone within less than 6 months

The '02's have a bigger worse tire gap than any other year as far as I know. Back in '02 I was thinking about buying a GT and remember reading the the '03 would have a slight suspension and safety change. It seems that the '03's and '04's have less tire gap including the Mach I.

See what I mean. Is tha the worst or what? Looks like 4x4. The question in my mind is what causes that? Is it the stock springs. I am wondering if I will get as low as an '03 GT would if I put on Eibachs. In other words, I'll be pretty mad if I put on springs and only get as low as a stock '03.

To look at the picture above, you'd think that it was up on jacks or something but it is not. It is sitting in the flast driveway of my duplex after a trip home from work (pardon how dirty it is).

Damn man, your car is really high. The sportlines will lower your car more than what the stock 03 looks like. 2" is more than you think. Your car would probably look like mine once your done.

Yeah man, ain't that some crazy 4x4 looking stuff. Keep in mind that it's an '02 with 16k miles and I took the picture tonight and the car hasn't been on a jack or anything since at least November so that's the way it always looks.

I am wondering if the sportlines would look the same on mine as an '03 or '04 since my '02 started out so much higher. I could just feel how p1$$ed I'd be if I went throught the $$$ and work to put some Eibachs on and then that only gets me an '04 OEM look you know?

I dont know about that but of course a mach 1 is going to be lower, it has shorter springs different suspension and a bigger engine but man thats a huge a** gap, You need to get some sportlines, and some shorter aftermarket shocks then lower your car about 2 inches, then youll see the difference especially if you have people in your car. You might even want to think about coil overs.

Well because Ford puts in the 4x4 springs from an offroad vehicle. Nothing like that in a sports car right.
Just put in a set of H&R springs and be done with it.

You will be OK on the stock GT shocks and struts at a 1.5" drop.

holy sh1t. mines an 02 gt and it hasnt been lowered and it doesnt look that big. you might as well convert that into a 4x4 with the lift kit on it.

sorry, couldnt resist. yea i would definetly lower it. are you running smaller tires than normal right now?
