Here is a picture of the engine compartment of a 66 Mustang I am restoring for my daughters first car. I put a Heidt's Mustang II suspension kit in it and a slightly built 86 SVO 2.3 turbo motor that has 300+ hp, automatic trany and 9" disc brake rear end. I have till May to get it done. So I better get on it. Here are some more of the 66 Mustang 2.3 turbo engine swap. http://www.turboford.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=047607

Here's what I drive now, although the pic was taken a few years ago, it's essentially this clean. '67 Convertible. Edelbrock Performer 289 intake Carter 4bbl, Hooker headers, Cobra valve covers (hey, they came with the car), stock heads + cam, Monte Carlo bar + export brace, stock dizzy with Pertronix ignition, stock fan, conduit-look upper rad hose cover, Optima battery. Only change in looks is that I have a taller (and cleaner) air filter element, STP PN#3648.

C code 289 2 barrell carb, PS, A/C... all original. Ford color = N with Krapon Black & bleach overcoat. Dang engine pirates! I hope this is the "before" pic that I can laugh at this Summer!

Here are three pics of my engine bay. Before, during and after. Notice the removal of the shock towers. We replaced the entire front end from the firewall forward, and it now has disk brakes with rack and pinion steering. According to the codes, my car originally had a 289, but when it we purchased it back in 1989 we were told it had a 302 in it, and my dad didn't really know much about all the codes and such. Well, after getting the numbers off the engine, I discovered that it did have a 302 in it, but it was out of a '71 Fairlane. I just got the car back from a 6 month restoration, and since it didn't have the original motor in it anyhow, and we were having problems with the 302, we put a 5.0 HO with matching AOD in it. I think it turned out really nice. Kris
