The duals should help improve gas milegae and other "mods" like driving style and properly inflated tires all encourge better gas mileage and are free. Just keep the car maintained and do not drive it hard and you should be able to net great mileage in the right driving condtions. Under Drive pulleys and a tuner w/ an economy setting might be benefical to you as well.

My 87 mileage tune from VMPtuning increased my highway mpg from 24.5 to 29.1. But cost $375.00 and dont know if it would help on short 10 mile trips.Around town mileage stayed about the same. If your car is an automatic it helps with that terrible LAG. Take longer rides.

UDP-+1-2mpg $200-$275 w/o install
Dual Exhaust-+1-2mpg $300-$500 w/o install
CAI-+1-2mpg $50(ebay)-$275 install is easy
Tuner-+2-5highway mpg not sure of city but has to be at least +1or +2 $350-$400-probably ur best choice w/ a cai and economy tune

Also taking out ur spare tire and jack if u have AARP should give u +0.5mpg. plus all extra stuf fu hace laying around out -100lbs=+1mpg.
Driving tips for better mpg:
-Don't make quick stops
-If u have a manual keep ur RPM's at 2,500k or less
-Don't drive withthe lead foot
