In the Street/Strip section it gets really boring sometimes, so I decided to start a O/T thread for this sections loyal members. IE: C6vette,Mr Rogers,98,1bad3v and etc....  We could just post in here and chat since most of the time the street/strip section is boring

This thread should not bring our personal lives into it ( I broke up with my GF).  But more along the lines of ( New cars coming out, or your shi* talking co worker)

Unofficially approved by JD    Have fun!

I will let this go untill it becomes out of hand. I don't want just random BS and post whoring in here. Lets at least keep the it about car stuff in general, no girlfriend bs, wife bs or political crap will be allowed. I want you guys to police yourselves on this and if you see any ot O/T post whores in here being retards let me and I will deal with them. BTW fiad, I changed the title a bit so as not to attract the O/T morons.

So what would a 2007 Mustang GT need to keep up with a 2002 Camaro SS with exhaust and intake?

I test drove a 3.5 Altima SE the other day and that car was damn quick, the CVT trans is pretty cool. I think you will still get him from a dig though.

it should be close depending on drivers, but you will probably take it from a dig because of the DR's...from a roll it's probably him.

I would think a tune, CAI and either gears or dr's. Most stock LS1's run low 13's and the S197 run mid 13's

CVT is amazing.  I thought it would be quirky, but it lives up to the hype.

Yesterday I drove a 2002 camaro z28 stripped down model and a 2006 mustang GT manual....through 1st and bottom 2nd the mustang would hang with the maro... At the top of 2nd the maro will start to pull the mustang hard....  Maybe it was a dyno butt feeling, but it sure felt that the camaro has vtec

LOL- I thought I was the only guy (besides 1BAD3V) that owned a auto new edge in this section....I will go out on a limb and say it's a toss up...auto new edges are what? Maybe 14.3-14.4....The 350Z is a 14 flat, with your mods that should even the score.....

On a sidenote- I had some older couple in a freakin' brand new Honda Odyssey playing ricer with me (weaving in and out of lanes) trying to race my GT...Whats up these days...I guess the word is out that new edges have a paltry 260bhp...so these ppl in their 270bhp minivans think they got a shot...lol

Unbelievable

you can look it up alot of places and i wont go into detail but basically, instead of 5-6 forward gears, it has one gear that is continuously altered to keep the thing hugging redline until let the throttle go or you top out.  Basically, the gearing can be extremely short while accelerating, but tall while cruising and there is never any shifting.  It's basically the smoothest power delivery of all time.  real fun stuff.

my buddy has 03 torch red cobra with 2.76 pulley, JLT intake, x-pipe and mac catback. he had the stock shifter and i swear after MGW, stock shifter felt like semi turck shiffter. like 10 feet away from each other. anyway, it was very very hot. like mid-high 80 dgrees according to weather.com but BS track temp had to be more than that.
he kept running 12.5s or higher. and then he said if i would run his car. i kinda hesitated cuz he didn't have the IRS brace but then he said if i brake it is all cool and i was like, OK. just a shifter made it feel like whole another car i swear. (and his clutch was kinda weird) i went down to 1/4 i missed damn second gear cuz i really thought i was in second but it was in netrual and still managed to run 12.3

then he messed with me on the streets and around 60mph punch, we were dead even, when we shifted to 4th i got ahead of them like almost one car and then done. He was so pissed he ordered 75 shot and MGW. LMFAO!

how about downshift? lets say you are cruising 70mph and you wanna punch it or 60mph roll race?

it shortens up the gear ratio the further you press the throttle down and gets you right into your peak power range (redline area) and then holds you there constantly changing the gearing.  Go test drive one guys, it really is amazing.

Heres a video of a guy going 60-80......Most of the CVT's come with tiptronic also, so they could downshift if they wanted to.
