depends on what it has done to it, but if they are serious about speed it is proably light and would run low 12's at the least

I guess it all depends on how you look at it.  Everyone likes vettes.  not everyone likes stangs, I think they are more unique looking.  I see 25 vettes a day, no bs.  I see half the amount of stangs.  Simple reason, vettes are typically better.  Plus, I don't like the near 1K a month for that kind of car.  I can easily put some more inexpensive mods in my car, and it would be fast then a stock C6.  I put a supercharger in it and it will be just as fast as a ZO6.  In the top end, I can modify my engine to get up in the really high speeds.  Overall, vettes are bad ass, but, I prefer my stang.  Question for the C6 Z06 owners, do vettes really get 25 MPG like Chevy claims they do?  I find it hard to believe, seeing as they have 200 more HP then a stang gt, and a bigger engine, and get better gas mileage

I have personaly never clocked my gas mileage , but when you have a tall 6th gear, lightweight chassis, and a wind resistant body design it all adds up for great gas mileage.....When I'm cruising at 70mph, my RPM is reading 1500....

I have my factory sticker in hand and it states 27mpg on the highway.....Just under that, it states that the mileage can range between 9-60 city and 13-66 highway....But the whole picture is if you granny drive you'll get great numbers , but who in the hell is buying a sports car and then drive it like a econ car?   Not me!!!  LOL

EDIT- One more point I would like to add. Even though my GT has a poorer mpg rating, the cost of filling it is less because Ford recommends 87 octaine. When it's all said and done saving money on fuel is the most important thing when bringing up the mpg debate.....so the cost between regular and premium fuel does offset that mpg disparity to a point....

I think thats the general idea...lol  J/K

I'm too lazy to find your post. What year and what mods if any on the Cobra?

Okay I looked....First I remember reading that you took your Cobalt down the track with a 105 trap w/ a sh*tload of spinning....I still don't know what year Cobra your running but if your going from a 45 roll up to the triple digits you should have him....Your sh*tty Pirellis won't hinder you as much (since traction from high speed rolls is a minimal concern) and you mentioned the Cobra w/ mods stated trapped 103........

You should have this one...Good Luck!!

My vote is for the cobra. I know it's not the 03/04...but here's the question that can answer it: have you ever raced a Mach 1? If you have what was the outcome and did he have any mods?

The 99-01 cobra, if I'm not mistaken, is the same as the Mach 1. It's essentially a new cobra without the blower...so if you can't keep up with a Mach 1 then you're not going to win. If you CAN keep up with a Mach 1....then race the guy and tell us how it turned out!

Ok, really.........what is the point of this thread?  It can't turn into OT Street/Strip edition....and it doesn't have a clearly defined topic.

.........it's like a big run-on sentence.

I have never had a Mach 1 or even driven one...but the all-powerful, ever correct "internet" says that the Mach 1 completely stock will run a 13.5 @ 105

I think with a few mods you will still lose, but maybe just barely. Who knows? You might win...you are lighter...just race and let us know.

Thats the point, in this thread it's OK to see who will win and still be "flame exempt" lol
His Slowbalt trapped in the mid 100's with some god awlful traction according to him....Since he's contemplating a roll race from 45mph he stands a good chance...

You joking right?  the V6 Stang for sure.  Looks better and probly faster. (Less HP, But weights less & better gears)  Plus the mustang isent offerd in a hybrid model

Ok, I got one for you guys.  2004 Mustang Mach 1 vs.  2002 Camaro SS
And not just whats faster either, Im talking about the all around better car.  includes price, interrior, styling, handling, Reliablity etc  (this should be instressting)

maybe this thread would be better off in the TeamRacing section?  although its almost dead in there, at least most respected members are allowed in there.

mm...back on track again.  while not the most exciting race, any thought about a new Altima V6 CVT tranny'ed vs. a 07 Camry v6?

Dude I've tried to get into that section but I guess you have to have a mustang for that section. Or maybe it's the respected thing that's holding me out
