nherbst454 -> Supercharger Pulleys (7/23/2007 5:52:19 PM)

     Hello all, I'd like to introduce myself, I'm the owner of NHERBST454 Pulleys on ebay and was wondering if many guys use, or would like to use, modular setups on your supercharged Mustangs?  I've been making modular pulley systems for Grand Prix GTP's, Cobalt SS's, Regal GS's, etc (yeah, I know they're all GM) for a few years now and would be very interested in providing 8-rib systems to the supercharged Mustang crowd as well.  If you're curious about my service, please feel free to check my ebay feedback... Thanks for your time and feel free to pm/email me with any questions,
Nate

Some product info and pictures would help out alot. Theres already a good bit of pulley manufacturers that are pretty well known for Cobra's.

ZAXJAX -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (7/24/2007 5:10:09 PM)

I will take free pulleys or idlers as a test!

Blownsvt -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (7/24/2007 8:13:00 PM)

way to try, i agree some product info ans speciffics would definitly help your cause and would be helpful for a comparison to other products on the market currently.

nherbst454 -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (7/27/2007 11:01:45 AM)

Here are a few pictures of the 6-rib setups I've been making.  Due to the fact that these are from the same company, Eaton, I believe the supercharger shaft and location of the first groove will be the same.  I am also willing to send a free pulley system of whatever size someone wants as a test to make sure it fits assuming they're willing to send me the stock press-on pulley and give me the proper feedback to let me know if it works.  Also, I would need them to make a post about it here.  The first person willing to do so who pm's me will get a free modular system with the pulley size fo their choice.

I also make idler/tensioner pulleys, but would need to get ahold of some stockers to get the correct dimensions.

Here's a picture of the kit.  This is a 6-rib setup however so your pulleys will have 8 ribs.  Included is a billet aluminum pulley, stainless steel hub, 7 screws (5 required + 2 extra) and an allen wrench.

This is a pulley for the Cobalt SS stage 2 kit, another type I make, and it shows the polished finish I offer.

That's a pretty nice pulley setup.  I like the polished version.  :-)

Blownsvt -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/4/2007 11:04:14 AM)

any response in regards to a test car yet? the polshed pulley looks awesome.

xxkazp3rxx -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/4/2007 12:06:18 PM)

I'd like to see it on the end of an Eaton, and on the end of a Polished Eaton...

spray175 -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/4/2007 4:30:01 PM)

Wow they look really good, They kinda look like the kenne bell pulleys just nicer. If I still had the eaton Id buy one.

thats what i was thinking, who do i know that has a polished eaton, oh yeah I do.

antiv6 -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/4/2007 11:22:42 PM)

i think to make any money on eaton pulleys for cobras youd proabably need to sell them fairly cheap, i can think of 5 companies that make pulleys for cobras off the top of my head, ranging from 80-160 dollars
if you want to see whats already out there to set your price try looking up billetflow, lightningforceperformance, steeda, reichard racing, or slp

I see steeda offers a press-on pulley for 80.00 (90.00 with shipping), but the ones I sell are modular so you can swap the pulley in only a couple minutes, not an hour.  The modular system from them is over 120.00 with shipping.

My system is only 90.00 including standard (4-5 day) shipping for machined finish or polished finish is only an extra 5.00

spray175 -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/21/2007 3:04:10 PM)

Thats a good price.

Blownsvt -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/21/2007 6:26:15 PM)

do you actually have an 8 rib set going yet? also what about idlers, if i go to a polished blower pulley i think i will want the same for all the idlers.

nherbst454 -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/21/2007 7:26:07 PM)

I think I'll try to get a prototype 8-rib pulley system made tomorrow, what's the size most people go with?  Also, I'm sure I could make idler pulleys but I would need to get ahold of a stock one to get dimensions from.  Anyone happen to have a stock idler lying around they could send me.  I'd be happy to return the favor with some machining!

Nate

nherbst454 -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/30/2007 9:08:54 AM)

OK boys and girls, I've begun making the 8-rib pulley system and here's a couple pics.  The mounting holes still need to be drilled and the grooves cut, but you can get an idea of what it's going to look like.  This will end up being between 2.75 - 2.95, what size do most people want?

PWORLDSTANG -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/30/2007 10:16:03 AM)

Those look pretty damn good! I'm interested to see how the finished product would look.

But If you're going to make multiple sizes, then I suggest making sizes starting as small as 2.65. Two of your competitors in the pulley market will be running pulleys this small. One already makes and sells them, and the other has aleady started to design them.

Also, I think it would be a good idea to for you to make and sell the idlers also. Belt slip will be an obvious concern with smaller pulleys. Making idlers (including a snub/auxillary idler) would address that issue. And people would rather buy a pulley kit as a whole, and stick to one brand instead of having mis-match pulleys. Especially pulleys that are going to be attractive and look as good as those  [;)]

Blownsvt -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/30/2007 11:53:19 AM)

the most common sizes are 2.76, 2.81, 2.93 and 3.1, as far as dimensions for idlers dont even worry about stock dimensions make them in a 3 100mm and 1 92 mm set. thats what most people go with for aftermarket stuff since it gives the best belt wrap.

nherbst454 -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/30/2007 12:00:04 PM)

As far as the dimensions I would need a stock one to determine the bearing offset for mounting to keep correct belt alignment.  If anyone has a stock idler lying around I would like to get ahold of it so I can ensure I have the correct dimensions.  I will then make them in over/under sized sizes as stated above.

Blownsvt -> RE: Supercharger Pulleys (8/30/2007 2:49:28 PM)

i have 2 sets of stock ones in my garage pm me some info and i can get one sent out to you. don't think it should cost much to send one pulley.
