do i need a fuel air ratio meter if i run a boost controler? i read some where that it is bad to turn up the boost and not have a fuel air meter.

Its not needed but its a good safty measure so you can make sure your not running lean

It's not really necessary.  As sleeper said, it is a safety measure that some people install so they can keep an eye on what's happening, and even then usually not until they start running big boost numbers.

It depends what ratio meter your talking about.

If it blinks from red to green and reads a narrow band o2 sensor then i'd save your money.
If you are considering a wide band gauge model with a real o2 sensor then it is one of the best things you can buy. The innovate works really well and they are reasonable for the features.

it also depends on if you have upped the injectors.  with some bigger injectors, the ratio will pretty much work itself out.  but since the stock setup keeps the injectors pumping out about the same amount of fuel compared to the boost you shouldnt have much of a problem if you dont run any more than 20psi with stock components
