Default Problem with Stereo install (2002 GT)

So I installed my new unit today, along with satellite radio, all of which works just fine and I love it. One problem though, the adapter that everyone says to get to use the stock amplifiers does NOT fit my car. This is the one I ordered:

FD03B

The plug doesn't fit anything that I disconnected from the stock stereo. So basically I have the stereo hooked up to the tweeters right now, since they are part of the stock harness.

I need to know what to do to be able to use the stock amps from this point, since obviously the adapter is out of the question.

Do you have the Mach 460 system. And if you got that part number from my info sticky, you should have read where it said that the harness should resemble this one, it's not necessaily that exact one. That picture is there for a reference. You need to call the place you got that one from and tell them exactly what your car has in it and what your trying to do and they will get you the right harness.

Yes, I have the system with the in-dash 6 CD changer and amplifiers on the back deck. I assumed that was the 460 stereo, as the 1000 comes with a subwoofer. I assumed that was the right harness since in the description it said that it was for hooking aftermarket stereos up to stock Ford amplifiers. I guess I will check a local shop tomorrow.

Also, just to quote you on what you did say in the guide post:
Quote:
How do I hook up an aftermarket CD player to my Mach 460 Audio System?

FD03B
This is the harness you will need; there are a few companies that make them. This is what it will look like though, this particular one is from Scosche.
This piece is also for head units that have front and rear audio outputs. Many head units under $200 will not have these. Yes there is another way to put in the head unit you want but this is the cleanest and best way to do it. This is of course if you insist on utilizing your Mach amps. I do suggest getting aftermarket amplifiers and speakers for the best sound, but many people are satisfied with this solution
.

You make it sound like that is the only one you need and that one specifically. Perhaps a edit on the guide? I am not a dumbass when it comes to these things but I trusted the guide and didn't actually check the connector in my car before I ordered.

if you have two hrns's in the back of the radio that are both the same size 8 pin plugs(one grey, one black) you need a FDO2B hrns.

can you pull your radio and take a picture of the back of it where the hrns's plug in?

Yeah I will probably do that. I have one plug if I remember correctly that is 8 pins and one I think was 4, which leads me to believe the bigger one (8 wires) are the speakers.

Here are pics of the two plugs. I went to a local shop today and the guy knew what I needed supposedly and ordered a peice to fit it. He said the plug is rare and I just happened to have it (so they didn't have it in stock at the shop). It costs around 25 bucks to order it.
