Default When do you change trans fluid on a 1996 Cobra?

I just bought a 1996 Cobra with 14,000 miles from my uncle. It is a manual 5-speed and he has never changed the transmission fluid. Should I get it changed now and how often do I need to change it?

Well for regular vehicles, you want to service your transmission typically at 30k miles and then 60k, and finally 90k. I do transmission services at the Ford dealership I work at all the time.

With the Cobra, since its a manual, if you wanted to wait until 50 or 60k miles then it wont hurt it. I changed the fluid in my tranny at 65k miles and it was decent. I race a lot also.

Thanks for the advice. I just thought since the car was 11 years old that the trans fluid would need to be changed. I won't worry about it for now. Thanks again!
