TacoBill do you get to upload your own backgrounds?

The Alpine wallpapers must be in a proprietary APN file format.  As far as I know, only 1 guy can convert any image you have into an APN file.
I downloaded a few from his website to use on mine.

http://www.pride-rock.com/forum/apnlist.php?mode=joined&order=DESC&start=50

You must download the apn files and burn them onto a CD (files only, no folders).  The IVA-W205 can read this data disc and store 2 of the background images at a time.  Procedure is in the owners manual.

Excellent deal DG!  I paid $620 (incl. tax) and that was with an employee discount from a friend over at Alpine.

Now all that's left to get is the Crutchfield wire harness, Metra dash kit, Radio Shack voltage regulator, PAC TR-7, and a rear cam!  LOL!!

Correct, the v-regulator is only so the door subs on the Shaker 500/1000 don't 'pop' when the system is powered on.

Weight difference between headunits?  I have no idea, both feel heavy to me.

TacoBill, I wanna purchase the same rear camera you have but when looking for the Lorex SG4933R everywhere I look i've found it looks like this:
Nothing like the one you have.

Is it the same thing maybe an updated model? Is the wiring still the same?

Thanks for your help
-DG

<---------Edit---------->
Where do you recommend purchasing it from?

I got mine from ebay.  Auction showed the same pic as the one you posted, guessing it's an old 'file photo'.

Fry's Electronics also carries them, but the 2 stores near me were out of stock.

Wiring off the camera is a video cable and the 12V wire (+/-) .

I know this may seem a dumb question but how to you open the trunk now that you have removed the locking mechanism?

Just like my front doors, with the key fob.

Thanks tacobill!  I referred to this post before and during the install today of my Panasonic CQVD6505U 7" touchscreen.  I still have to hookup the Sirius Sat radio, ipod cable, and the module that connects them to the radio.  I ran a cable to the back for sometime down the road when i want to hookup a backup camera and even ran some sub wires to the back for a later date.  (Cant afford all those other goodies just yet, i got all of the above used and at a good price)

Thanks again, you da man.

I hope I'm not bringing up two dumb questions.  I've spent the afternoon soldering the Metra Harness to my aftermarket head unit harness.
1)On the Metra harness for the Shaker systems, there are two Blue/White "Amplifier Turn-on" wires.  Do both of these get hooked up to the one Blue/White amplifier control wire on the aftermarket head unit?

2)Can I use the open sub-woofer output (left over from Shaker 500 systems) to hook up an amp and subwoofer other than the Shaker sub?

Excellent write ups TacoBill.  The first thing I did when I joined this forum is read most of your work.  What Toyota forums do you belong to?  My other car is a S/C, '02, x-cab, 4x4 with just about every goody I could put on it.

TacoBill,

Thanks for taking the time to do this write up.  I used it as a guide to install my 205 and PAC TR7 today and it made the installation much easier.
