I am taking delivery of the Roush Hood Scoop tomorrow and wondering if anyonethat might have already been through the install process has any heads-up or "by the way....." FYI, the car is striped with vinyl which I will have to drill through, assuming that isn't a big deal as far as tearing/ripping as long as I use a punch on the spots first.
As a side note, I am going to keep the scoop solid Vista Blue and install over the stripes. The couple of cars that I've seen on here with that set-up (wingman75, GrabberOrange07, 50mustanggod, JimC) look GREAT! I think the scoop all but disappears when you stirpe it and isn't the point of having a non-functional scoop for looks?!?!
Install is a cinch, comes with a sheet that lays over the hood. It's bloody scary drilling through the hood, but really nothing to it. It'll look HAWT!

Had mine on in 20 minutes... Just take your time drilling the holes. Don't put alot of presure on the drill, let the drill do the work. Also, I don't know if you know but you have to take out the hoodliner. Now I get to take mine apart because I'm getting ready to Stripe my car this weekend. Also that is the same thing I'm doing, leaving my scoop Torch Red over the black stripes

I would just suggest putting some masking tape over the holes before drilling. Making sure the drill does not "walk" across the hood. Post some pics when complete. I'd like too see how it looks over the stripes.

Remove the hood insulation and put a blanket over the engine to catch the "filings". Use the can of compressed air for cleaning computers to remove the filings from the hood (wiping them off may scratch).Since you areplacing the scoop over your vinyl stripesuse foam weatherstripping to line the scoop - it should keep scoop from causing creasing of the vinylover time - the scoop will flex differently from your hood on the highway or very high winds so the foam will account for that difference.
And post up some pics when you are done!
