I am a Design Engineer. I went to Purdue University and studied in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Technology. I basically am doing what you would be but just in Pro/Engineer instead of AutoCAD. My advice to you is to learn as many 3-D programs as you can because you will be more open in the future. And if you can learn Pro/E because people are paying huge sums of money for people that are trained in Pro/E.

Well, I'm not a "guy" so maybe it doesn't count, but just in case: Animal Hospital Manager

It will be interesting to learn what everyone does -- thanks for asking the question! -- but in terms of the ability to afford a Saleen Mustang, what we do doesn't really matter. Find what you enjoy doing and do it well! No materialpossessions can compensate enoughif you're working in a field or with peopleyou don't enjoy. I left a six-figure career (no Saleen then) for one that pays 1/3 of what I used to make (Saleen now)and I've never regretted it. Reserve the right to change your mind if you find yourself doing something that drags you down... Life offers infinite second chances.

Regarding the ability to buy a Saleen, if you make it a priority and you put together a realistic (and honest) plan to get you there, the universe will ensure that it happens for you. That's what the universe does best!

Well, you don't have to be rich, but since when has that ever hurt anyone that wants a nice car

I am a service technician and just manage my money well (835 credit score baby ) and unless you are after an "E", it is not that much more than your average nice car. Hit up that eBay add on another post, and will have a sweet and very fast ride for $40,000*

*Dealer tax, license and DOC extra. Gas guzzler tax does not apply and your frickin' insurance rates are gonna go thru the darn roof if you buy this car. However, you will undoubtedly get lots of attention from hot chicks and or guys and ego will be abundant. You will also be piped by every Tom, Dick and Harry driving a souped up Honda Civic. If you are lucky you will recieve a free and unsolicited booby shot from earlier mentioned hot babe. If you recieve a booby shot from a guy, say hello, as The Jazzer is always friendly.

I used to be a regular engineer (worked for a large company in a cubicle designing stuff for other people to make lots of money). I now ownmy own companies. They are internet based (hence "dotbomb").

I agree though that no matter what just set a goal, be wise financially, and you should be able to reach that goal.

Sermon or no sermon - well said Amy

I went to Indiana University's (Purdue's arche rival [8D]) Kelly School of Business and majored in Marketing. I'm a Regional Sales/Account Manager for an independent manufacturer's rep firm. Thats the long way of saying I'm a commissioned "BullSh!ter"

You don't need to concern yourself with what we do, or set lofty goals to own a Saleen. Just save some money along the way so when the time comes you have a down payment and aren't having to finance the whole damn thing.........now, why didn't I practice that myself [sm=headbang.gif]
