out of the stock system you should pull 14 psi on premium and 9-10 on regular.  with the stock t3, im not overly sure.  i think around 22 psi or so, but someone else will chime in with a closer estimate.  any pics??

Most people tend to agree that the T3 is pretty much done by 18-20psi.  His will probably be towards the 18psisince the 84's have the smaller exhaust side.

With a good front mount or alky the t-3 seem to continue making power in the 23-24psi range. The ihi seems to be about done at 20-21psi.

Keep in mind the psi is just a restriction in flow and 22psi on my car might not be 22psi on yours. That being said if you go test you will find what your turbo likes but it should be north of 20psi pretty easy.

You control the wast gate and not allow it to open untill the boost you want is reached, then the wast gate opens

Get a boost controller, you can use that to turn up the boost.  As for not hurting the wallet, it depends on how much you will want to spend.  Turn up the boost to ~18psi, bump up the timing a bit, CAI, these are cheap to do.  Past that, it's pretty much about what you want to spend.  A 3 in downpipe and exhaust is the best bang for the buck mod you can do.  Anything that increases the airflow the car will see will increase the power.  Porting anything/everything, swap to an E6, larger throttle body, front mount intercooler.  Another small improvement that some do is swap in an LA3 from an 87-88 Turbo Coupe and installing the larger 35# injectors, some add the TC intercooler as it is a bit larger.  If at all possible get a boost controller, turn the boost up to ~18psi, advance the timing a couple degrees, disconnect the knock sensor, K&N, and the exhaust work.

Turboford.net is a site dedicated strictly to the 2.3T.  svoca.com is a site dedicated to SVO's only, and members get discounts from their vendors.  forced4.com and stinger-performance.com are great resources in the modification department.

The T3 will do that easily.  I run 12* timing and 20psi with a TC intercooler on 93 octane gas.  A word of caution though, first, be sure the car is in good running order first before you start changing things.  Second, don't disconnect the knock sensor before you are sure the car isn't knocking really bad.  Some cars seem to handle more boost and timing better than others.  18 psi is a safe starting point, it will definitely go higher than that if you want it to.  Basically what you have to worry about is a head gasket or something, the bottom end on these engines are very nearly bullet proof.

the motor runs good it only has 64000 on it but i dont want to hurt the motor right away since i still have a payment. your guess going from 10 ponuds on regular gas to 18 ponuds on premium how much more horsepower should i except to get and will running 18 pounds on 92 octane fuel kill my gas mileage cuz this is my daily driver

You need to put premium in it and flip the switch on the console to premium to see where you are at right now.  Then turn up the boost from there.  How much boost you run has absolutely nothing to do with mileage, it's how well you can restrain yourself from standing on it to feel the rush of boost that affects the mileage.
