I second, that is a nice ghia ( looks like a disco cruiser ). It is nice to see a low miles original Mustang II. All the ones around here are pretty rough.

A II is not considered a classic, but Yeah.  There needs to be an original V6 Mustang represented.  They couldn't pull the hat off your head, but they were the original V6's.

yup. i was never a big fan of the coupe II's, but i gotta admit a clean ghia would actually be a REALLY good car for a DD if it was in that kinda shape ya know?

How old does a car have to be before it is considered a classic? I thought it was 20yrs. Next year all IIs will be 30+. First gen Mustangs are all antique cars now aren't they?

Believe it or not, that IS starting to change, at least a bit.  The more we just show up and act like we belong (without excess flaming) the more they just come to accept us.

Mind you, I'm a bit of a hippie/redneck and just joined a Crown Vic site with a definite Law Enforcement presence.  Now THAT'S a bit intimidating.......I'm still getting used to how it feels in the FRONT seat for a change

(P71 is the Police Interceptor model)

I just bought the frame off of e-bay, it was in absolutely PERFECT condition. I was utterly shocked at how great the condition was. Don't ask me how much green I laid down for it....let's just say -  I wanted it, was going to buy it, regardless of the price - foolish I know, but I've been looking for over a year for one. Now I'm no longer looking!

arent the frames usually ok? i mean even if they are rusty you could sandblast, paint, put cover on - and your good as new

Not a chance.  Out of the four II's I own, three have good rear covers, but ALL FOUR have the bumper support frames rotted to the point where touching them anywhere drops bits of rust everywhere.  A good kick will provide up to half a pound of piled flakes on the ground...
