73 Sportroof -> V6 (7/10/2007 2:35:41 PM)

Does anybody have a V6 to nominate for ride of the month? We need a classic in there.

my77stang, maybe you would know.

70gtvert has been nominated and i contacted him via email letting him know if he gets seconded he will need to accept.

I second, that is a nice ghia ( looks like a disco cruiser ). It is nice to see a low miles original Mustang II. All the ones around here are pretty rough.

Soaring -> RE: V6 (7/11/2007 2:22:59 PM)

A II is not considered a classic, but Yeah.  There needs to be an original V6 Mustang represented.  They couldn't pull the hat off your head, but they were the original V6's.  [:D]

my77stang -> RE: V6 (7/11/2007 5:42:46 PM)

yup. i was never a big fan of the coupe II's, but i gotta admit a clean ghia would actually be a REALLY good car for a DD if it was in that kinda shape ya know?

How old does a car have to be before it is considered a classic? I thought it was 20yrs. Next year all IIs will be 30+. First gen Mustangs are all antique cars now aren't they?

my77stang -> RE: V6 (7/12/2007 7:41:26 AM)

classic guys will never consider them classics because they are II's..... newer guys will never consider them classics because they are II's...... we are the red headed stepchild that gets beat by the drunk boyfriend

Believe it or not, that IS starting to change, at least a bit.  The more we just show up and act like we belong (without excess flaming) the more they just come to accept us.

my77stang -> RE: V6 (7/15/2007 6:46:30 PM)

yeah, i kinda feel like the freshmen sneeking into a kegger. you get a couple strange looks from the older kids but they'll still let you have a beer [:D]

Mind you, I'm a bit of a hippie/redneck and just joined a Crown Vic site with a definite Law Enforcement presence.  Now THAT'S a bit intimidating.......I'm still getting used to how it feels in the FRONT seat for a change[:D]

i am trying to reach her she gave me her contact number for she needs the infamous rear bumper  so i will try to keep reaching her and try to talk her into joining the forums here and the other sites for II's for the more members we have the more we can have our own class at shows

my77stang -> RE: V6 (7/20/2007 11:32:13 AM)

she can get fiberglass repro's, i have a set of bumpers that arent split which i am gonne use on mine, but even they have nicks and stuff in em (current front and rear look like hell)

mycobraproject -> RE: V6 (7/20/2007 11:41:07 AM)

she actually just needs the frame (rear) for the bumper the cover is in mint condition

gwb16 -> RE: V6 (7/21/2007 8:25:12 PM)

I just bought the frame off of e-bay, it was in absolutely PERFECT condition. I was utterly shocked at how great the condition was. Don't ask me how much green I laid down for it....let's just say -  I wanted it, was going to buy it, regardless of the price - foolish I know, but I've been looking for over a year for one. Now I'm no longer looking!

my77stang -> RE: V6 (7/21/2007 8:35:33 PM)

arent the frames usually ok? i mean even if they are rusty you could sandblast, paint, put cover on - and your good as new

Not a chance.  Out of the four II's I own, three have good rear covers, but ALL FOUR have the bumper support frames rotted to the point where touching them anywhere drops bits of rust everywhere.  A good kick will provide up to half a pound of piled flakes on the ground...
