ORIGINAL: gwb16 I just bought the frame off of e-bay, it was in absolutely PERFECT condition. I was utterly shocked at how great the condition was. Don't ask me how much green I laid down for it....let's just say - I wanted it, was going to buy it, regardless of the price - foolish I know, but I've been looking for over a year for one. Now I'm no longer looking! if you bought that from the madman i do know how much you paid for it and that could have did alot of bodywork on my car = prep for paint and such LOL LOL

EXACTLY what my problem was. The craziest thing about it is the fact that there is NO RUST anywhere else to be found on the thing. It had the ZBart treatment way back when, everything else on the car was in super condition, but that bracket was horrible. If I breathe on it rust just flakes away! LOL!

Wife asked how much....I asked why she needed another pair of shoes - conversation ended there - LOL! Just joking, she's been very supportive during my most recent affliction. It used to be a 66 Chevy C-10, now it's a 78 Mustang II, I think the II is working out MUCH better. I learned a lot of lessons from the 66, a lot "Don't make this mistake again" lessons. Thankfully I don't have many more "must have" items.....there are some "would like to have items" but not not anything that you could call show stopping.

Humm, I never though of them as anything but a classic, and I've owned/own nearly all (but those mammoth 71-73's, and not because I don't like the style, just too large for my tastes). The style of the 74 was "retro" before retro became popular. Brought back the side sculpture, the size, the grill style. If this came out in 94 with 94 tech power trains, it would have been more popular than it was back in the 70's. I also disagree with them being the second generation. Again, I pick on the 71-73's for this. 65-70 all used the same basic chassis, some minor modifications but pretty much Falcon based all along. 71 started using the Torino chassis. Based on this and the deviation in style from the "pure" 65 look, I feel this is a valid argument that the II is the third generation, again, based on the new platform (arguably Pinto based, but "better", like the Cougar was compared to the Mustang). Still, I like 'em all, and yes, they are going for more. Lately I have seen the nice coupes, not even Ghia's, go for close to 6K on the Bay, where just a year or so ago they were lucky to get much over 3K.
