quote: ORIGINAL: ZChevyMan28 Correct, 7 or 8k. I'm not into foxes. How far are you willing to travel, and are you financing, or could you get a loan and possibly buy from a private seller?

You will need to travel...we had to go into Chicago just to find a nice Auto LT1 car a few years ago when the GF was looking... My 01 was on the dealership lot locally for 2 days before we had the paperwork signed.... ;)... otherwise I dont see them around here that often...

quote: ORIGINAL: ZChevyMan28 I can travel up to chicago, or down by springfield, St. Louis, and i can buy from a private seller. So if you'll travel around 200 miles or so away, than I'm sure you can do a nice autotrader search and find something nice under 100,000 miles with a manual tranny and a v8.

Buy this one. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=223911838&dealer_id=60339573&car_year=1998&model=CAM&num_records=25&make2=&start_year=1981&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&engine=8+Cylinder&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&search_type=both&distance=0&marketZipError=false&search_lang=en&first_record=151&make=CHEV&color=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=63129&advanced=y&end_year=2008&pager.offset=150&doors=&transmission=&max_price=8500&cardist=291 FWIW, my car has 129k miles and I've had to replace a catalytic converter at 30k (done under warranty and then scrapped for longtubes), the alternator (at 102k), and the steering rack is leaking a bit (got a replacement, just haven't put it in). Nothing too major. And it runs better than new.
