Hmm coming from SF? If that's so, you'll be heading right through my neck of the woods (pretty woods around here ya know). If you're droning along the 101, it can get a little dull however there are some great backroads from SB on out to however far you want to go. You can hit the twisties til' you want back on the 101 or all the way to the 5. There are a bunch of choices. I'd be happy to show you the way, if you want.

Hey Shawn. Would love to take you up on that, but not enough time on this trip I would LOVE to take HWY 1 all the way to L.A., but time doesn't permit. I AM heading up HWY 1 North from Stinson Beach to Fort Bragg tomorrow for a one-night get-a-way and the road is WONDERFUL
One day, I will head down that way for a trip and will look you up. Likewise, if you want to know where some fantabulous roads are in Marin, I can hook you up FOR ABOUT A MONTHS WORTH! I know several outrageous roads just North of Santa Cruz toward San Jose or Half Moon Bay as well.
Right on, there's never enough time, huh...such is life. Yeah, I've wanted to make a trip up there to wine country for a while now(I'm a bit of a connoisseur {speaking of which if you are so inclined, or know of people who are, check out our wine club: executivewineclub.com}) . I can't think of a better trip than one filled with fine wine and twisty roads....and good people to share it with. I think I'm going to have to bump up the priority level on this one!

Sorry, I gotta warn against the mixture of imbibing libations whilst apexing curvations....
I cant believe all of you guys dropped in this morning and only Jazzer said hi to me! I'm taking the rest of you off of my "Nice" list!
All you guys? Who else showed. I was rocking in my wife's MDX at 9:40am. Met Jazzer quickly and grabbed breakfast with 2 others. I then had to get home to a busy day of chores.
If the store opened at 9am I could have come inside...

Well, La La trip was GREAT!!! Elizabeth and I had a great time, but started out pretty rocky. Soo......... remember I was a sayin' I wanted to get myself a new clutch about about a month ago? Well, I ended up putting a new cable and was working fantastic for the entire month PRIOR to our trip (so I passed on dropping trans and doing clutch). I get to the east bay area and we need to pull out of heavy commute traffic and get a bottled water at a gas station. Ended up in an area with no gas stations and bars on all the windows and doors of houses . During our little "excursion" back to freeway, The VIXN will not fully disengage gears and VERY hard to shift, and I am praying I don't drop the tranny right there on the corner of Pillage and Plunder Ave! Was able to get to cable adjustment and get back on the highway. When I stopped using clutch for a while and leave in gear, it seemed to cool down and work OK (definetely an issue with the fork and pivot connection on bell housing). Anyway, was NOT going to turn back home as HWY 5 was close and could leave in gear for the next 7 hours and have towed once I got to Saleen store in Irvine if necessary!
I was able to meet dotbomb, s351Speedster and Say When in his nice Fox Body Saleen. We said a quick hello, and they were headed off to breakfast. I did get a pic of the wonderful S351R #01 Speedster next to the VIXN. The pic was taken after Elizabeth and I took a hike for the nearest java shop for her ice coffee. When we returned, Say When had left and could only get the speedster. For a short time, all three were lined up and lookin' sweeeeeeeet (if I do say so myself )
Elizabeth and I spent about 2 hours talking to Spring (Saleenlvr) and Jared (Red_Devil) at the Store. Spring gave us a nice tour and little history lesson and was great. Spring is a total sweetheart and actually gave us BOTH new shirts (see pic) Thank you, Spring She showed us the S7 and gave lots of good info (was unable to sit inside as it is already sold ) Spent about 45 minutes or so talking with Jared and he is great as well! I wanted to talk with dotbomb and friends, but they needed to meet someone else at another location and we had to get going to Disneyland. I will see if I can get Elizabeth some more time-off and go down for the big October show and cruise!!!

Jazzer, it was good meeting you, though brief. Timing just didn't work out with all the schedules. In fact I had forgotten that weekend was "the" weekend and I just happened to be meeting those guys for a photo shoot (see stangnet). I'm glad we had the chance to meet in passing and at least Pluto didn't chase you around the park like he did that kid the other day (but I bet you didn't kick him in the nuts either).

I was able to meet dotbomb, Say When and, I am sorry, I forgotten the name of the other guy in nice Fox Body Saleen. He usually is on Stangnet (I think) but I did recognize his screen name. We said a quick hello, and they were headed off to breakfast. I did get a pic of the wonderful S351R #01 Speedster next to the VIXN.

......Jazzer, Dotbomb was in the wifes car, Say When was in the foxbody notch and that "small guy" that unfolded out of the speedster was me. You got a very rare picture of #01 has that is only about the fifth time in the five years I've owned her that the top was up on the car. It was great meeting you and puting a face to your screen name. If you can make it down for the FFW next month, it would be great to actually spend some time shooting the *hit with you. .....Jared, Sorry but the store wasn't open when we arrived and we did have prior plans. Besides, I was parked three cars away from you at the RSM Ford car show two weeks ago and you didn't say two words to me all day long anyways. Not sure what "nice" list you are referring to but I have a weird feeling that I'm not part of it going by my past and present experiences with your current employer and direct boss. Although it would have been nice to meet Spring and put a face to her screen name. Molly has said to me in the past that she is a great person to work with at the store....

Nice meeting you. It's only a 5 hour drive in Vixen with a good clutch fork from Marin. You should make it down to Fontana. I'm sure it will be a hoot.
Car looks good. Like the seats and the low bumper number.
Speedster AKA Robert. For crying out loud....you are in Hawaii. Get off the damn computer.

C'mon man! Sarcasm! I dont really have a nice list, sorry I didnt talk to you at RSM, I wasn't purposefully ignoring anyone... I'm always more than happy to meet Saleen owners and sometimes I meet so many people I dont know whos car belongs to who, because once I finish cleaning my car everyone has walked away from theirs. I actually cleaned the car and went to lunch with a group of Saleen and mustang owners along with Jason from Hillbank motorsports during the show and came back later to sit in the air conditioning inside the dealership (it was burning outside!) and meet other owners and vendors. I am probably hands down the easiest Saleen employee to meet at a show and hang out with, I dont know if you will be at Queen mary sunday but if you are I will make a point to hunt you down and meet with you! And that invitation is open to anyone who wants to hang out, grab a bite to eat and talk shop!

Thanks for all the cool responses. Let me tell everyone, when s351 says he unfolds out of the car, HE DOES! He is HUGE. I wouldn't want to tangle with his car OR him! I do wish we could spend a little more time chatting. I would have liked to go for a ride in either Say's Fox Body or that sweet S351R while the top was still down (it was when he first parked with the speedster cover on as well) Unfortunately, dot's car was down due to the heat exchanger damage last week, so he was riding the misses car. All in all, what a great trip! Spent 3 full days at Disneyland and STILL wasn't enough time. Went back 'n forth to California land and Downtown Disney and one would need a full week and a 100 pill bottle of perky's to get it all in! Never got to go on the Nemo sub, the lines were minimum 1.25 hour wait 100% of the time we were there . Unfortunately, Elizabeth cought a bit of a cold starting Sunday afternoon, and went slowly down hill from there. She is back at work today and hope she can make it tomorrow as well so she MAY be able to head down to Fun Ford Weekend in Oct. I mentioned it, and seems she may be up for the ride. Between now and then, the clutch is priority #1.

Very cool Jazzer, sounds like you had a good time, what happened with the clutch?
Well, hard to explain. Normally the clutch has resistance (clutch plate) then as the pedal gets closer to the floor, it gets easyer (just like a compound bow that Ted Nugent uses ). Right now, it gets harder to push, the farther you go down on pedal (sometimes it is normal). It has an intermittent "stutter" as it engages. The discs and flywheel are fine (does not slip at all and engages fine) just has MAJOR mechanical resistance with pedal. When motor is not running, pedal still hard to push, but the "stutter" completely goes away. I think there is a combonation issue between the throw-out bearing and clutch fork and pivot joint where it connects to bell housing. I am going to take it to my buddy's shop today, and see if he can hoist it to get a look see. I want to make sure I get ALL the needed parts before I pull the trans and find out bell housing is damaged and need to order more parts
Well, The Jaz has been ramblin' on here and needs some cruchies. I will do my best to make FFW in Oct. and hope to see lots of Saleenistas in thier fave rides
