Default X Pipe or H Pipe

Alright Im getting mixed answers from some of my friends about either getting an X Pipe or an H Pipe. Ill get better exhaust flow w/ the X-Pipe but people say that the H-Pipe will give off a better sound threw the exhaust, I need more opinions about it.

what you said is true. the H pipe will give you a better sound. To me a better sound is deeper and throatier like an old muscle car. I would go with the H.
I have also been told that it really doesnt make that big of a difference.

I had been wondering the same thing a while back. In my opinion, the X Pipe does give a little better performance/hp. But the H Pipe definitely sounds better. If sound is really what you're looking for go with the H Pipe. It will give off a better sound. If that's what you're looking for. What exhaust system do you currently have?

It is a matter of preference. I just swap every once in awhile. I like them both.

Nothin sounds better than a Bassani X pipe with bassani headers and mufflers thats what is on my 99 Anniversary GT. It has no cats and its dumpedthough dont know if you would want to do that.

I have a Bassani X-pipe with an American Thunder exhaust. I am thrilled with the sound. It gets loud at 2kRPM, but this thing roars at 4kRPM at W.O.T. I turn heads just cruising down the highway . I have heard that the X-pipe will flow a hair better than an H pipe. Not really much difference performance wise. I think it comes down to personal preferrence when deciding between the H-pipe and X-pipe. If it wasn't for emissions, I'd have the O.R. X-pipe.

I have a 98 6 cylinder with MAC shorty headers, an H pipe, and flowmaster exhaust and I've been told by many people that it's the best sounding 6 cylinder they've heard. As a matter of fact, a guy at work just bought an 07 GT and my car sounds better idling (I can't say much for when you get on the gas, but oh well).
